Overview of The Terrace On Kent

At the far end of Kent Street beneath the prestigious Stamford on Kent, just moments from the hustle and bustle of Sydney’s CBD, sits The Terrace on Kent. With its open-aired balcony and harbour view restaurant it’s easy to see why this alluring bar and restaurant is one of the cities more distinctive hangouts.

Open from 7.30am till late, regulars stop by to pick up their morning coffee or pop in for lunch or evening meal. The food here is nothing but superb. The menu is fresh, varied and very reasonably priced. Naturally, the bar is well stocked with local and international beers, cocktails, bubbles and a choice of handpicked wines.

Had one of the most delicious meals of my life here! The duck was amazing! Service was fantastic. The staff were friendly and efficient and made excellent recommendations on what to try from the menu. Will definitely go there again.

The worst experience ever! The service was extremely bad. Paid for an 8 course degustation and waited 3.5 hours for the food to be delivered. They also told me last min that there was no sorbet and had to serve vanilla ice cream instead. And they ran out of the cannoli. There was no replacement for the items they didnt deliver and had to pay for the full price for the degustation. Would not even attend ever again if it was even free...

Response from Management:
Regarding this review, I have spoken to staff member working this particular evening. The degustation is not part of our regular menu, rather a special offer that normally requires an advanced booking that is noted on the voucher; however, we accommodated into our restaurant. We were short certain menu items as the booking was not pre-booked and we did our best to give the best alternatives available at the time. To date we have sold over 700 of these degustation special offers through our promotional partner and this is the first negative response we have had regarding them. While this does not excuse poor service or long waiting times, I do feel it is not review is not reflective of our overall service and quality in our restaurant. Although I feel this review is too extreme, I can also understand the frustration of waiting too long for a meal, and for this I do applogise on behalf of my staff. Please note we did what we could at such short request.

My favourite mid-week lunch spot. Great for corporate or casual lunch dates. Although it's not well known, this place actually has some stunning water views and a fantastic menu. Service is always professional and for some reason main meals start from just $12.00! Portions are generous and food is delicious, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Service was very slow, took 15 minutes to get a coffee, banana bread was cold and stale. Waiter was friendly though. Am a local resident of Millers Point and wish there were other coffee shops open to choose from on weekends as this one is not worth visiting.

I visited this Restaurant with my fiance and two friends to celebrate leaving for a trip overseas. The service was excellent. Our waiter was really lovely and went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our night. The food was also amazing. I was amazed at the value, considering the location and top quality of the food. We left well satisfied and overall very impressed with our evening. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. You will love it.

Great value, attentive service without being over the top, one of the best steaks in Sydney by far and a great place for a quick lunch or some relaxing drinks with colleagues.

The staff that work here are extremely friendly and helpful. Our food was spot on, the atmosphere was great and I would come back here without hesitation. Hats off to the guys that own and run this bar. Cheers guys! Your fan, big sexy.

Really disappointed by the service here. A half full dining room for lunch and only one server torn between the restaurant and the bar is not on. Apologies were appreciated, however, its a management problem when waiting to order is more than 10 minutes, waiting for the entree another 15 minutes, waiting another 20 minutes for the mains. No service in between asking if we would like another drink. Terrible. Whats more the pasta came out cold while the steak was the right temperature. Something wrong with the timing.

Such a shame, as its a nice enough bistro, with plates less than $25 and not a bad steak. If only they understood a business lunch is usually 1 hr. We won't be back. If you walk 50 m up Kent St there is a much better place with wood fire pizza!
