So amazing! in and out in 40 minutes (that was our plan). The placemats and chopstick holders were just so cute. The food so fresh and light, which was perfect after such a hot saturday. Would recommend highly, make sure you book! New favourite in Balmain
Vegetable tempura was crispy and light. Only complaint is the prawn tempura which was rather floury. Oh and the rice which was short grain, not really fragrant and too wet. Apart from that, the food was good. I liked the wasabi salad dressing. Service was excellent.
Two thumbs up. My husband and I went for a mid week dinner out last night. We stumbled upon Teriyaki Boy and were lucky it was a Wednesday night. Judging by the ratings, I don't think we would have had a chance at the weekend.
Waitresses were very friendly. We were given a seafood appetizer on arriving, it was delicious. For entrees I had the spinach with sesame and my husband had the gyoza. Both were fresh and light.
For mains, I had the misobata (miso and butter sauce) salmon and my husband the beef with ginger. Both were generous serves with a large fresh salad on the side, and that incredible Japanese salad dressing. Rice was extra.
For dessert we shared green tea ice cream. This was cutely presented with corn flakes, cream and apple as decorations. The ice cream itself was dense and richly flavoured without being overly sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Servings were excellent value for money. They even drew a picture on our receipt for us.
Pricier Japanese in a comfortable venue. Overall good value and we will be back again very soon. Thank you!
A great dinner out! Last time I came here with my family we did not make a booking so unfortunately we missed out. Tonight though I went with one of my girlfriends just after 6pm so we managed to get a table.
I decided to be conservative and get the teriyaki chicken ($15). It is served with a salad - with that amazing Japanese dressing that I always love - and rice was extra (not bad at $2). My friend got two large handrolls ($7.50 each) cut up and presented nicely on a plate. The sushi was fresh and lovely - not as good as some of the places I've had but great nonetheless. She also had a small miso soup ($3).
The service was great. The waitresses were humble and attentive. The gave us a Chinese cabbage pickle gratis before our meal. Their menu is cutely written on their blackboard at the back.
Teriyaki Boy is certainly not pretentious and has some amazing service and great value for money. Will definitely be back!!
A great place for the whole family - children are catered for very well. The menu is very comprehensive with an extensive specials board as well. Food was fresh and very delicious. Service was quick and the staff were very efficient and friendly. We thought that is was good value for money.
I Love Sushi esp Salmon Sushi... I also Love Chicken Teriyaki... well, Teriyaki Boy just made me more addicted to both. Their Sushi is fresh that it taste sweet and the chicken teriyaki tastes different. Good different, it's not too sweet just the right flavor.
The place is quite small although it has a warm cozy feeling to it. The place can get crowded, (it's better to call in for reservation) so don't expect a quiet dinner.
Food is a bit expensive but it's worth it.
The food here is sensational, always fresh. We live locally and eat here at least once a fortnight. The hostess and her staff are absolutely lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We live locally so just get takeaway. But the food is excellent. It is so fresh.
The service was so lovely and friendly (especially compared to the japanese restaurant we USE to buy from down the road!). Definitely recommend this to anyone who likes Japanese.
