Cheap greasy food served in huge portions. Don't come here expecting quality. The portions are big, and there is great value if you're priority is to fill up on rice and batter.

I usually order deep-fried pork chop with rice or deep fried chicken chop with rice. I've tried other menu items but those are the only two "fail-safe" dishes I've encountered. The smaller non-greasy option which is still decent in portion size is minced pork on rice. I particularly like the pickled vegetable and tea boiled egg that comes with the three listed dishes.

The drinks here are OK but not fantastic.

Tea inn could really benefit from cutting back on their menu items (way too many dishes on offer, and a bit ridiculous advertising dishes like "Indonesian Fried Rice" and "mashed potato" when the sign outside the restaurant states Tea Inn is a Taiwanese restaurant).

The interior and decor used is cheap and run down, and when ever I'm waiting for my meal to arrive, I can't help but feel a bit depressed by the shabby surroundings.

Service is quick and food takes around 5-10 minutes to arrive, so Tea Inn is ideal for a quick cheap meal.

Sometimes the service is a little slow but whenever I am in need of a bubble tea fix and this is the place to go. The biggest selection of flavoured teas, not much more you could ask for.

Nice little place for a quick and dirty Taiwanese meal. The place is rather dirty though, so it's not for the faint-hearted. The drinks are surprisingly nice despite the fact that cheap ingredients are almost certainly used. Nice prime location near two bus stops.

We were out late night and did not find a place to eat hence dropped into the restaurant. The hot pots come with a lit stove at the bottom of table. Great to eat but OK taste. But the meals are so cheap with heaps of quantity. They have a speciality in Iced Tea products with ice flakes. Our bill came up to only $20 which is peanuts, what more can you expect when you get cooked food on your table and good service from the staff.

Tried this place for a late lunch. How cheap are the meals, unbelievable. I had an entree of Salt and Pepper squid followed by Braised Beef with Capsicum and onion etc and a can of Sprite $14. The main was over the top, coudn't eat it all, this place is value boys and girls. Very polite waitresses. Drawbacks though - filthy-ripped menus and the decor needs a freshen up.

This is definitely a place that caters for the student type budget. The whole place is very simple, has a bit of a 'cafeteria' type feel to it with the bare tables and chairs, and that all the plastic serving bowls. Would recommend this place for a quick, cheap dinner. Food was alright - nothing spectacular but of the standards you would expect from such a place.

Food is terrible, but cheap. Drinks has a large variet, however, its just syrup in the end and lack of presentation or taste for such prices. Good place to watch Stephen Chow movies after work.

Close to university, a lot of students hang around Kingsford for food. If they had a choice, probably they would go further. Same here for me! I finish class at night at Kensington and most of the time my classmates and I starve so much! to pick a restaurant which closes late at Kingsford, I suspect that Tea Inn is your only choice. The good thing about Tea Inn is that the service is quite good, I mean, the staff aren't rude or impolite or anything, food comes quite quickly (you would appreciate that if you are desperate!).

A very average cheapie. If you want a quick meal then it's great. Very quiet on the Friday night we went but it was winter and very cold. The place has a lot of choices maybe too many. I had the Undon noodles with mixed seafood and it tasted okay and it was a huge serve for $11 my companion had the Terriyaki chicken with rice and veges for $8.00. Too much to eat, so we took the leftovers home. I have been here a few times with my partner and he thinks it a bit sloppy but a great feed for a cheap price. No cards, cash only.

Seriously, I think Sydney has plenty of better restaurants to offer. Having tried the food here for a number of occasions, I can safely conclude that this is one of the worse place I've ever eaten in my life. I can get more satisfaction from eating instant cup noodles at home ! Yes, it's that bad. Take it from an Asian who appreciates good Asian food. I guess a good cook is important to any restaurants, it is very evident here, I find them not very skillful here. I've had better, at almost all restaurants I've ever been to.

Adding to that, they use some of the worse quality meat and seafood here. Beef tastes like chicken with a funny texture (must be frozen stuff), noodles dishes that are famous in the originating countries like Malaysia are very badly cooked here which might give you the wrong impression that Asian food isn't that good. I hate restaurants that don't bother using fresh ingredients like meat to cut cost, if you're like me, don't bother stepping in here, if you don't believe me, go order a beef dish here, then go to Coles, get some fresh beef parts and cook it with some instant sauce, guaranteed it's much better, and you'll be wondering what the heck you ate at Tea Inn.

I wonder if the cooks ever eat what they cook sometimes, coz it's quite awful & salty. If you want a decent Asian meal, there's a Singaporean\Malaysian restaurant near the roundabout in Kingsford, their food is way better in comparison (it's not the best, but one of the few authentic restaurants you can find in Sydney for hawker food). Have to admit, it doesn't taste the same as in my home country but it's close. Do yourself a favour and take my recommendation and I guarantee you won't step foot back into Tea Inn like me. Forget the drinks here too. Probably why the drinks taste so bad is coz they use powder flavourings, and they add lots of ice in their water. Hey, I'm just telling it frankly, cause I think that's what this website is about, to recommend good places and to let people know if the food quality sucks big time. If you think this place is not bad, you are seriously missing out in the various good Asian foods available for you just down the streets.
