This is my favourite Thai restaurant in Sydney. The menu is much more original than your standard Thai restaurants and the food is delicious.

Everything we tried hew was great. The fish, beef, quail eggs were simply delicious and well portioned. A bit noisy at times but a well recommended place.

Had a lovely dinner at Tapioca. Try the smoked trout with betel leaves, and chicken wrapped in wafers for entree. Deep fried whole snapper for main; and tapioca pudding, and coconut ice cream for dessert. Great restaurant for a special occasion. The chef came out to our table at the end of the meal to see how we found our meal. Really added a personal touch. We thought it was not BYO but they seem to be a little flexible about it, so call to enquire beforehand.

We had a very enjoyable dinner here, starting with the betel leaf entree, need to share this as it would be too much for one person. Loved the mixed mushroom and silky tofu dish, absolutely yummy. Hubbie enjoyed the Wagyu beef and Chinese broccoli dish. The tapioca dessert was a clear green, rather than milky, with an interesting and slightly salty sauce on top. Good combination.
Friendly service and nice ambience. And the short blacks were just right-not bitter. We'll be back.

Group of 5 of us found the noise level unpleasant. Pork and fish overcooked but nicely presented. Service Ok but nothing special. None of us felt we would return.

My partner and I visited Tapioca tonight and the food was great. Having read about the deep fried quail egg in the Sydney magazine I was keen to try them and they were delicious. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. Can't wait to come back and try more from the menu!

Amazingly good food ! This was our third visit since they changed over from Bannana Blossom. Trout, barramundi and the the lamb massaman were standouts. They have toned down on their chillis and on our last visit the spice combinations were perfect. BYO is a bonus and the service is great too. We will be regulars!

Earlier this week I read Terry Durack's review of Tapioca in the Sydney Morning Herald. I was about to make a Friday night restaurant booking with friends and decided to investigates this new Cremorne Thai restaurant for myself. The Sailors Thai connection was encouragement enough for an epic crossing of the Harbour Bridge - from Kingsford (16 minutes via the tunnel).

I'm delighted to be the first to report it will be a journey I'll be repeating soon. I expected much and it exceeded my expectations. Our entrees were fabulous - we choose the betel leaves (great flavour, too big for one bite; 2 or 3 required), the minced chicken omlette (again, great taste) and the beautifully crafted, steamed dumplings (my friends' favourite). I won't dwell on the mains except to say they were excellent, with the green curry - wagyu beef - an outstanding offering.

The staff were charming, wine reasonably priced, service excellent. I had virtually given up on suburban Thai restaurants as so many are now so bland. This new contender distinguishes itself and will do very well.
