It’s a worst restaurant in Sydney. I’m telling this because of the service of the place. One of my friends recommends this place. Food was great. But the service is appalling. The man took our order wasn’t helpful at all. He was very rude. Look like he wasn’t happy with customer.
If I go back only I will go for take away because food was great. I’m a local. I don’t understand how people get paid for this type of service. For the waiter first develop your speaking skills, and if you don’t like the job get lost man.
Have only eaten here once. Food was great and good for value. Service was friendly and professional but overall a good place for friends to get together!
Frankly speaking I am not a person who write reviews after dining at every restaurant. But experience at Tanjore was worthwhile to mention. The service was great. For those who may be surprised if I say that the waitpersons had smile all through and always available even before you look for them, please try to find these rare qualities in other restaurants.
Food was great too!! Generally good food and good service do not come together. Tanjore is exception and that’s why I am writing this review. For tandoori lovers this is a MUST visit. Butter chicken is highly recommended. Spice lovers will like chicken chettinad and beef vindaloo (please don’t blame me if your have different choice, please ask the friendly waitpersons before you order).
For vegetarians, navratan korma is highly recommended (although it’s bit sweet). Last but not least I should mention ‘kulfi’ – a dessert for sweet lovers. Probably I will go back even only for kulfi!!
The food is pretty average; at least it matches the expectation for the price we paid. One point I want to highlight though is that their menu is misleading, the rice we got was clearly written as $2.00 per head but when we finished the meal, we were charged $16 on just plain rice for refilling twice (instead of $6.00 for the 3 of us). Then I was told rudely by the owner that we needed to go out more often since there is no Indian restaurant in Sydney that would offer free refilling of rice.
Lovely little local Indian restaurant. The flavours are really delicious and the blends of spices great. Nice, laid-back atmosphere with very friendly and obliging staff.
Food was ordinary at best - it doesn't have the 'wow - it is delicious' factor. Bland flavour doesn't match the sizzling hot plate. Prices - reasonable. On the good side: baby or child friendly place.
Food is sensational particularly the mixed entree. If you are in a hurry this is not the place for you as everything is cooked fresh it will take longer than expected. However it is very much worth the wait.
This is an excellent value for money restaurant. The food is always tasty and the service is satisfactory. Two can eat for less than $40 and bring your own drinks. The only drawback is that the sizzling dishes have a way of leaving your clothes and hair smelling like the food, but that's easily fixed.
