Overview

"AS SEEN ON SYDNEY WEEKENDER"
When first walking into Tandoori Palace, you may need to take a step back as the recent renovations are quite breathtaking. The original timber floors, tinned pressed high ceilings, breathtaking bar, marbled featured walls all make for a fresh, modern, sleek, feel-good dining experience. The service is friendly and professional, yet without being intrusive, and the quality and quantity of the food are generous at affordable prices.
(Restaurant Level BYO bottled wine only corkage $3.00pp)

On the lower level, you'll find a Karaoke Party Room. Friday $40pp & Saturday $45pp 'Bollywood Party Nights' (No BYO). This includes the Set Banquet menu, Male and Female Bellydancers, Drag Show "Special Guest", Karaoke, and Complimentary Passes choice of 3 nightclubs, Great fun for Group Bookings - Corporate Functions /Hen's Nights/ Birthday, Farewell Parties & Xmas parties etc
CurryOke - Curry & Karaoke Sunday - Thursdays = $35pp

We had our staff Christmas Party in the party room downstairs. There were 50 of us. The food and service were excellent, the venue was classy and there was oodles of great entertainment and lots of involvement.

We have been in business for 4 years now and this is the best Christmas venue we have been to. Highly recommended.

I organised a 30th Birthday party in Oct 08 in the Karaoke party room. It was an awesome night. The bellydancers and drag show was so entertaining. Food was superb. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for any special event. Stephanie will make the night perfect for you. I will definitely return.

We had my birthday party here recently, and a riot of a time @ the Palace. Having seen good reviews here, I told my wife that I'd like our "gang" :) to go there for the Saturday night Bollywood/Drag Queen/Karoke dinner and shows.

Anyone foolishly driving by and thinking this is "just another Oxford St/Darlinghurst dive" would be a making a very big mistake, these folks take real pleasure in delivering very high quality Indian cuisine!

We were absolutely not disappointed in any way shape or form. The entrees were superb, the curries in the mains divine like what we had in the UK and the portions for our group were just fine. We were on the "group menus" for the showroom downstairs, and can't wait to dine upstairs to explore the menu further.

Other tables downstairs included a hen's night, which combined with our table and a few other groups made for a heck of a lot of fun, a good and the venue one we can't wait to get another group together to go!

I'm very fussy where Indian food is concerned, and this place is one of a very few Indian restaurants I repeatedly go back to. The food is excellent. I am not up half the night with indigestion afterwards! Always a good sign of good Indian food for me. The service is excellent and the decor is almost perfect. I have never been downstairs so can't comment on that. I would definitely recommend Tandoori Palace.

I was a guest at a Hens Night dinner at Tandoori Palace to have a banquet meal. It was easy to find and not too far to walk from Museum train station. I arrived an hour late but the staff instantly greeted me and lead me to my seat, arranging for my entree to come out straight away.

I didn't particularly like the blue lighting of the bar but got accustomed to it as the night went on and soon didn't notice it at all. The food was quite tasty and everyone had enough to eat. The bellydancers were fun but the best part of the night was Penny Tration, the drag queen host that got the curryoke started. She had me in stitches and did well to be inclusive of all 4 hens. I didn't want her to leave! I had a great time and would definitely return.

The Karaoke Party Room at Tandoori Palace is absolutely fabulous! The drag queen Penny Tration was so funny. I would recommend Tandoori Palace to everyone and anyone. The food, the service and the entertainment were all A-class. Brilliant!

Great night out, unfortunately, it had rained heavily and the downstairs bar area was ruined. But it was really fun! it was my hensnight, and they put up with our shenanigans!! We were given vouchers to night clubs, so they really helped make our night!

My wife and I eat out often, we enjoyed our experience at Tandoori Palace immensely. The staff are very professional and friendly and they even can explain and describe what's on the menu, which can be rare these days.

The food was top notch, I had the lamb cutlets which are without doubt one of my favourite Indian meals and one that I have at every Indian restaurant I visit. I was not disappointed, the lamb was succulent and flavoursome and were good size cutlets. My wife had shader scallops which were mouth watering and cooked to perfection. Our main meals consisted of prawn saag, beautiful king prawns in a spicy spinach sauce and the lamb shanks with the meat just falling from the bone.

All in all our experience was a very good one and we will definitely return to try some of the other dishes we couldn't fit in. Cheers
Rob & Leonie
