Notes

Highly Recommended...Best Thai in Sydney The food is exceptional and inexpensive. They serve THE BEST fried rice I have ever eaten and their service is quick and friendly. All in all a very pleasant dining experience.

Overview of Take A Seat Thai

A small corner restaurant on the main road as you enter the manly vale shopping zone. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the open kitchen allows you to see as they prepare the fresh produce in front of your eyes.

Good value for money. Really friendly, non-invasive service. Had chilli basil chicken and oyster beef. Regret not trying a curry. Beef was a bit chewy. Recommended.

Best Thai food around, for both value and taste. No attempt to make the place look like anything other than a typical (local food) restaurant in Thailand. As far as I'm concerned it's all part of the experience. Food is the closest to anything I have eaten in Thailand..love it! Our 3 kids love it too. No yuppified modern Thai here, thank god.

Went to these guys last night for take away. Had been numerous times before and always found the food quite good and value for money. Last night we ordered beef satay sticks (to be told there was only chicken that night and no apology), and chicken penang.

Once we arrived home we discovered our main dish was only half full (normally full), and were lucky to have 5 pieces of chicken and a few vegies. Most of the container was full of sauce. Not impressed at all. Will Not be going back. This place used to be great, last night the people were not friendly, and food was pathetic.

Stumbled accross this place on the way home from a failed attempt to eat out in manly. Am not from around the area and was quite worried that the quality would be bad, we ordered the Penang curry & a stir fried dish but I can't remember what its called. Overall the food was good and service was attentive. Was definitely a nice discovery.

I order take away from these guys every 2 weeks. The prices are great, although it can get really busy on Friday nights and you have to wait. I have noticed that no matter if super busy or quiet, the food is always a consistent, reliable standard. I like that. I definitely recommend this restaurant for routine eating or takeaway, not for a romantic, quiet dinner. Thai fried rice with chicken is excellent, however, Spring rolls are not recommended. Give it a go.

I wouldn't eat at the actual restaurant, it's definitely more for take away than anything else. Everyone is friendly and accommodating though. In a way I like the fact it hasn't been done up. Everything is freshly made and there's no MSG used. Really nice.

More like take away shop than restaurant but still easy to get tables, for many people to dine in should reserve tables especially on Friday night. They are BYO and no charge for corkage!. My best dishes are fried rice, chicken cashew nut and red curry. They serve fresh food, value for money!.

Never again! Food was average, service mediocre and the corkage completely over prized especially for beer! Very disappointed!

Tables usually available for sit down customers as this restaurant has a high rate of take away customers. Massaman beef is always a hit, with red and green Thai curry also popular. Prices have not gone up much comparing a 2003 menu to current 2009 menu, so keep this under your hat! An investment by the host on some interior Thai fittings would be of benefit in terms of ambience.

A fresh coat of paint would also be of benefit. If you are looking for a good slap down meal and don't care too much about ambience then Take A Seat Thai is a worthwhile option.

Have never dined in at this restaurant, have only ordered takeaway but still rate the service, always only 10-15 minutes from point of call. Great fresh food, Chicken laksa is a favourite, best Laksa I've had. Chicken penang is mouth watering. Moderate prices, good value for money. For restaurant, could do with an update of furniture, but regulars are coming for the great food, not the decor.
