Went on a voucher for 2 entrees, 2 mains, and 2 desserts for $49.
For entree we ordered the garlic prawns and chicken sekuwa. Not bad but nothing special, chicken was slightly burnt.
For mains we ordered the butter chicken and a lamb curry. The serving were ridiculously small in a tiny little metal cup around 8cms circumference and 5cms tall. The butter chicken was quite nice but the lamb curry was watery and flavourless so I had to add salt just to get more flavour but it still tasted horrible.
For dessert we ordered some donut ball in syrup and a coffee pannacotta. The pannacotta was nice but the donut thing wasn't.
Overall below average experience and wouldn't go again. Also the music they play is very annoying.

What a pleasant evening we had, we were there on a quiet sunday evening and for most of the meal just our table of 4 adults and one 2 yr old. As we had a voucher, we had a set menu and could choose vegetarian or non-vegetarian. We were asked if we liked certain foods...eg goat, or fish and then we just said, bring food and we leave it up to you, it was Yum! It was so good to have different foods and tastes. The 2 yr old enjoyed everything as well. He loves a curry and rice!
Our host for the evening was a friendly young man and looked after us so well. Thanks Rob! We will be only too happy to return to this restaurant.

I went there three times over one month. The food was fantastic and service was also very good. Great varieties of dishes for the vegeterian and vegan. Definitely will go back and will recommend the friend.

This was the very first time my friends and I had tried Nepalese food, and let me tell you it was a fantastic experience. Who has wild boar on their menu? or Buffalo Dumplings? I will definitely return. Try the carrot dessert, it was a wonderful surprise.

This place is a little gem!
My partner and I are massive foodies and are lucky enough to be able to eat out several times a week. So when I say that we genuinely loved the food here, I mean it! The flavours, while familiar in some ways, were like none I've experienced before. (well, there are similarities to Indian and even South African food but I found the flavours more, for lack of a better word, 'fresh' tasting and less heavy without an abundance of coconut milk in the meals). I'd never tried Nepalese food before and was pleasantly surprised!
We wanted the Pork curry special (it sounded so unique) but they were all out so we ended up sharing the Aduwa Lamb (a traditional lamb curry cooked with Himalayan spices, fresh ginger, onion and capsicum) which was absolutely fantastic! We were sharing a meal due to the fact that we were really not hungry at all (we'd just been to the movies and eaten a huge tub of popcorn right before dinner!) so we were amazed that we finished the dish and ended up ordering another one because we were just dying to try something else on the menu and we polished that off too!
I want to make the point that I am Not a big eater. My husband has a good appetite but between us we usually don't eat that much food (we rarely order sides or entrees or desserts at restaurants and often share dishes) so it's saying a Lot that we ordered and demolished 2 meals on top of already full stomachs! (for the record, the second dish was the Chilli Chicken (marinated chicken thigh fillet stir fried in tomato base sauce with green chilli and Spanish onion) - Superb!
My favourite thing about this place is that the meats were incredibly tender and yet the vegetables were not over-cooked and were so firm and fresh. I kept commenting to my husband that, although the flavours were incredible, if the meat had been dried out in the stir-fried chilli chicken like it sometimes is in small places like that, it would have made it just like any other take-away place in a small arcade with below-average ambience.
But this place stands out from all the rest. A real diamond in the rough!
I really recommend this place if you want to try, or already love, Nepalese cuisine. Go nuts and order as much as you can eat, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I ate here last week and I am very surprised at the ratings.
We both had the banquet and there was nothing in it which really impressed. The entree was a mixed platter of 4 components and was cold when presented with some components appearing to be re-heated by microwave, the butter chicken was poor in flavour and the chicken was well overcooked, the lamb dish was better in flavour, and the dessert (indian ice-cream like) was okay but quite difficult to eat.
Overall, we were disappointed. The ambience is quite good with nice furnishings and a nice feel. The food, however, is below par and I wouldn't be rushing back in a hurry. I found it to be quite expensive for what was presented, however, there was plenty of food on offer overall.

Based on the ratings system, this will always fall down for ambience as it is located in an old shopping arcade. The position is not ideal. Service was also average or just above when we went there last week.
However, the food is fantastic and I'd recommend anyone who enjoys sub-continental type food to give this a go. The menu is slightly unusual, but I found the aduwa lamb, the scallops, and another vegetarian dish in which I can't remember the name as among the best I've ever had.
Frankly the food was almost to chef hat standard if there were such a thing for Himalayan food. Will be back for sure.

The Mustang Banquet was fantastic! The waiters took the time to explain the dishes to us, and they were all flavoursome and fresh! The momos were delicious, and also the aloo chops potato cake. The mains were also of a fine standard, the butter chicken and mustang lamb were not oily at all. No complaints, the ambience was above average too. Definitely planning on returning!

Extremely disappointed. Went there last night after reading the rave reviews. But neither the good nor the service were up to the mark. Ordered chargrilled quail and special Nepalese goat curry with roti for mains and minis for starters. The starters took 25 minutes to arrive (which for a speciality of the house is surprising, considering they'd expect most guests to order them).
When we did get the momos they were measly looking and were mostly pastry with hardly any filling. Certainly not what I'd call value for money. The mains took another 25 minutes, and even then too first the goat curry arrived with the rotis and the quail took another 10 minutes. The curry was watery and did not have much flavour.
The rotis were a total shame, they were the frozen variety that you can buy in any Indian grocery store, and not fresh rotis that you would expect in any good restaurant. The quail was the only reasonable tasting dish but would have liked to have been told when ordering it that it would take almost an hour to cook.
The extremely slow service (the result of having just one waiter on a Saturday evening) and the well below average food ensured that we will not be returning.

I have eaten her twice in the last 3 weeks & really like the food. Being Vegetarian, this place caters for me wonderfully & the wait staff are very attentive. I am a fan of the Nepalese Kitchen in Surry Hills but think this place gives it a run for the money. My only negative would be the desserts which I think they could improve. I will definitely go again, soon. Cheers.

I had also never tried Nepalese food and found it to be similar to Indian but more delicately cooked and tastier. We had the saag paneer (spinach, ricotta, peas) and a meat curry along with some paratha and roti. Don't believe the menu when it says "mild"! The saag paneer was meant to be very mild but I found it even spicier than the meat curry, and had to mix a heap of yoghurt into the curries for it to be edible (by my standards). Despite that, the food was incredibly tasty and I can't wait to be back!

The menu looks promising with several interesting dishes to try. However, the food itself (chicken curry and eggplant dish) turned out to be very average, as well as the presentation of it. Only the Fig, Honey and Pistachio ice cream trio tasted delicious.
To top it all off, the waitress seemed very unfriendly and annoyed of taking any orders. The restaurant itself is rather small and has a very cozy atmosphere, but we will not be back anytime soon!

3 of us went here. We were seated and given some menus to look at for all of 5 minutes. The supervisor/ manager then came and forcefully grabbed the menus out of our hands and made a decision on our behalf that we were to try 'The Mustang Banquet'. We wanted to try the Nepalese banquet, but he assumed we knew nothing about Nepalese cuisine. In actual fact, he just wanted to get rid of the excess Mustang Banquet food they had cooked. Very rude service! The bill was brought to our table before dessert was served and we were repeatedly asked to pay whilst having dessert. I have never been treated so rudely anywhere in the world. The food is cery good but the service and attitude of the staff is borderline gustapo/ nazi!! Their pathetic attitude ruined our dining experience/ evening and we shall never ever return.

I have eaten their food but once due to a special voucher I purchased. I don't recommend this restaurant. The type of food served here you might expect to find at a food court but with the restaurant price tag. The curry's are too oily to enjoy and smothered in far too much sauce.
The food takes much longer than expected to present and when it does it's not appealing. The dining room needs an entire overhaul. The carpet has a mouldy, pungent odour, due to very old food stains. Nothing about this restaurant impressed me right down to the chefs and the kitchen in a positive way.
