Thought we'd try somewhere different before a night at the state theatre.
We shared a bottle of wine and were offered water. We were presented with a 600mL bottle of Mt Franklin for $7.00. This would be fine if it was a high end restaurant, but for a restaurant which appears like a diner it was a bit much.
I had the salmon teriyaki which was over cooked and, therefore, too dry. It was served with rice and a single leaf of bok choy. Although the sauce was good, there was not enough.
The service was superficial. The waitress became bitter after we suggested that we'd not requested bottled water. Will not be returning.

We went here for my boyfriend's birthday and it was perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for. We went for the 8.15pm sitting as we didn't want to be rushed. The staff were fantastic, not pushy and offered some great tapas (mushrooms, squid and meatballs). We followed this with the chciken skewers. The vibe was dark, sexy and romantic in the resturant. The sangria was great! It would be good though if it came in a jug as opposed to buying it by the glass ($15 per glass).
I would definitely go back again.

Went Saturday with friends for my birthday. The design is stylish and inviting which seemed to suit the diverse crowd. Lots of tasty tapas arrived hot and fast (prawns wrapped in jamon and paella sensational). We all had a great night so a big thanks to all!

We love the Little Monk for dine in or takeaway. The pork belly is especially delicious, but everything that comes out of that tiny kitchen is a sensation.

My girl and I wandered into this restaurant for breakfast and were very happy with our meal. I ordered the open omelette, which was rich and full of flavor without being too greasy. She ordered the folded omelette, which she loved as well. The coffee had flavor without being heavy. A great meal at a reasonable price.

Attractive restaurant, but very noisy so a strain to communicate with my dinner partner. My partner had main size pasta, flavour was Ok but only enough to feed a sparrow. I ordered steak ($36) which was hard to cut and chewy. Artichoke and potato tart was not fresh. I told the waiter, when he asked, how my meal was. There was no replacement offered, no apology, no reduction in price. Very expensive and extremely disappointing.

Me and my partner booked an early dinner and received a glass of complimentary champaign each was nice. For appetisers we ordered the pierogi with organic pork and roasted shallots and the fried cauliflower. They were both nice but I thought the cauliflower was quite unique. We were quite full at that point so only order one main which we decided to be the chicken breast with potato dumplings. I thought it was quite average though the chicken was very tender.
The dessert had to be the best part as we ordered the choclate ganache and walnut souffle. The souffle was nice but a little eggy but the ganache was absolutely Delicious complimented with icecream and tuile!
However, after a lovely evening when we received the bill we realised they had charged us $9 for a tiny bottle of still water that didn't even last us until main. I thought water would be free but it was even more expensive then some of the alcohol which I thought was a massive rip off.
I would come back again for the desserts but I definitely won't be taking any more water!

I would say one of the best restaurants Harris Park has to offer. The Food all the way to Service had little to nothing to complain about. I went with some of my co workers after one of our major deals had finalised to have some celebratory drinks and authentic Indian food. The greeting prompt, as soon as we walked to the front door there was a waiter ready to greet us, who gladly opened the door for us to walk in.
With the pleasantries completed we were Asked where we'd prefer to sit and dine, not just shoved in some corner to be forgotten. As soon as we previewed the menu, and decided to order the waiter was ready, some of my co workers were non Indian and the waiter have a vast knowledge of the food and how it could be completed with condiments.
After the order was taken, a man from the bar comes to ask for drinks, his knowledge again extensive as well as the array of alcoholic beverages they had from you local VB to a Top Shelf Margerita. We all ordered cocktails which were beautifully garnished and one of the best I've had.
The food came out in good time, the longer it takes the better it should be right? 'Im telling you the entrees (Chicken Tandoori, Fish Tikka, Seekh Kebab, Prawns Tandoori) were worth every single minute for which we had to wait. I felt like I was in India again. In due time the entree plates were removed and the perfectly timed main course had arrived. The presentation of the curries, I must say one of the best in Harris Park.
You could literally see the richness of the food gleaming at you. As we dug in, I could taste the aromas and masalas used delicately to provide the sensations of hot and spicy. What can I say about the naan bread. Perfect. The most even, thin and crispy naan I have ever eaten, just the way I like it.
After we had devoured ourselves silly, we were stuffed. We would've loved to try the Kulfis and Faludas which Chutney had to offer, but I had to leave something for next time. Also tells alot about the portion size of their curries and condiments. Large.
Gladly I had asked the waiter to give the Owner and Chef a thumbs up and that we had a lovely time. To my amazement the Chef walked out and personally thanked me. Wow a first in an Indian Restaurant in Harris Park.
The exciting plesantaries were dealt with and I was on my way home. An experience of a lifetime. If by now you haven't understood what to do I'll say it. Go to Chutneys!

We went there for a dinner before going onto our movie. Food came out quickly and staff were attentive and helpful and tapas are delicious. However, the drinks selection could be improved.
Ambience is quite nice. Restaurant feels cosy but in a nice way. It is a great little gem in crows nest. We discovered it on the way home and glad we did.

Mixed review for this one. Started with the Bharwan Mushrooms which were divine, and I've been tempted to come back just for them. However, for the main, I felt incredibly let down by their prawns which were remarkably tasteless. (Literally, I remarked all night about it, wondering how it would even be possible to take All the flavour out of a prawn).
That said, the curry sauce was nice, and my partner very much enjoyed his dish (the Handi – La – Jawab), so that brought their score back up a bit. Might go back, but would avoid any seafood dishes.

The tapas style menu was delicious. We were recommended the cauliflower, pierogi and cevapi, all fantastic even though one of us doesn't traditionally eat cauliflower! But he'll eat it if it's deep fried! We had the lamb main, heaps of lamb, super succulent!
We had the apple pie cocktail - Yummy! The ambience is like a dining room. The waitstaff look cute in bow ties! The bathrooms are lovely!
The service was exceptional. They always had a smile on their face, v attentive and enthusiastic. They took the time to go through the menu and make recommendations!
Great value for money. Would definitely come again. They've got 60 flavours of vodka too! Bottoms up!

Yummy food but possibly smallest servings this side of malacca. Popularity seems to have gone to their heads, too - a complaint about the paltry size of rendang fell on deaf ears. Terrible, terrible attitude, terrible value for money, leaving a terrible taste in my mouth (which is a shame as the food is better than average).

My wife and I popped for lunch after a movie @ the Ritz this afternoon. From the specials board we both chose the Beef Daube Pie with Chocolate Mousse for $16. The menu had the price @ $20. The waiter, a very polite young French fellow, was surprised that the board was so wrong and he appropriately charged us the $16.
The pie was 'homemade' and pretty good albeit the meat a bit dry, but I didn't mind that too much. It came with a green salad dressed with a good quality balsamic vinegar. However, the mousse appeared to be a little old being thick and dry on top. It tasted Ok. The coffee was not as good as it should have been. However, it was a nice place to sit on a sunny afternoon.
Overall, our experience didn't convince us to return for an evening meal.
