Superb Food! love going there! Chef is v friendly and comes to greet you when food is served. Yeah! you won't find many people there on weekdays as this place suits more for big parties with a spl place for dance. Would always prefer it for my parties and recommend my friends too!

Awesome food, but stupid rules that you can only have certain food out side and certain food only inside and when questioned only explanation is "that's the way it is" (as per duty manager on 30th may 2012 eve).

I just ordered butter chicken from Tandori Cottage it was ridiculously sweet as if they just poured a tonne of sugar into it. It was not creamy and was tasteless. I am already starting to feel sick. The chicken tikka was also sweet and had more capsicum than chicken. They were both fatty and watery. The chicken was very rubbery.
I would not recommend this take away to anyone nor would I eat from here again. It is not authentic Indian cuisine. This is the reason why I have rated it 1/10.

Spotted in our local paper that the chefs from Shangri la Chiang Mai were over for a special Thai food promotion, so popped in for lunch today. Very welcoming staff into a lovely, bright buffet room (very 5 star hotel, so nothing original, but not dated or tired). Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the buffet was varied and good value at $48.00.
Loved all the salads, thought the chef had made a nice balance between satisfying those diners who like an authentic level of spice, and those who prefer it milder. Really enjoyed all the hot dishes, especially the beef massaman, the green curry, the tom kah gai and the chilli mussels.
All in all a delightful experience (even for my father who doesn't like thai food).

Have been quite a few times over the last 12 months. The food and service are consistently good and it's become a local favourite. In contrast to the Laughing Ganesha, the venue is more relaxed and less cramped, albeit nothing flash. Food is always good, entrees and mains, particularly the goat. They also cater for kids well. Only complaint is that the naan bread could be better.

In fairness, the restaurant was full on arrival on what was a very busy night, hence, why, perhaps, the waiters were thin on the ground and not particularly attentive. This was our first time expectations were high given other recommendations. It was 'nice enough' though far from outstanding food, there are certainly better options in Sydney and local competitor Dehli Hutt just about edges ahead. We felt a little cramped, and were seated at the front window, can only imagine who claustrophobic other diners felt seated in the central area.

The food is quite good. My friend had butter chicken with plain naan and rice and she's quite happy with the meal. I had lamb Vindaloo with plain naan and rice which is alright but the lamb was dry.
The service, however, was bad. They quite pushy in terms of selling their food. They keep asking us if we want some popodums, like, 5 times. Then they keep asking if we want wine or entree, over and over again when we already told them no we don't want wine or entree, and dismissing me when I tried to order some mango lassi.
At the end, they short change us altho it wasn't much but still we'd like to have our change. Maybe they have an automatic tipping system when you pay the bill.
Overall, we decided not to go back there anymore.

Fantastic Indian food! We are not Indian so I guess we can only qualify our post using our opinion, but the food, selection and service in this little restaurant if nothing short of sensational! We had the mixed entrée and beef vindaloo for main.
The entrée was terrific and very fresh and we got taste 4 different types of Indian food. The Beef Vindaloo was good (getting bits of fatty meat was disappointing) but the overall good attitude of the staff and management made for a pleasant evening.
The food is probably a little expensive but we had a great time and we will certainly go back to try some of the other dishes!

Attended on a Friday night, restaurant was fairly quiet. Young Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was quite nice and prices very reasonable. Unfortunately, the orange tablecloth on our table showed old stains, I guess they couldn't wash out. This lets the appearance of the whole restaurant down. I don't wish to sound too negative as the food was very nice. I would recommend this restaurant.

This is in regards to the issues which I had a bad experience today at your restaurant. I wanted to inform this to the supervisor or the manager but, I didn't find anyone, so I would like to list out the issues through reviews:
Firstly I had to literally wait for 15 minutes to place an order. There were two girls on the floor busy chatting with each other that they didn't even bother to ask if I was ready to place my order, which is not at all appreciable. This is second time which has been repeated by the same girls, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it seriously.
Secondly the food was been served very lately and it was not good, especially the breads, they were Uncooked. I had to go on with those breads only because I was already been served very lately and I didn't wanted to waste my time.
Note: I Would really appreciate, if you consider my review as an important issue, so that not only me, other customers can receive a proper assistance from a good staff, not like those two girls. Thank you.

It's a weird, eclectic place. We went there for a wedding function. It's very big and very dated. The air conditioning was blowing out steam and/or dust right over us! We were not greeted nor seated to a table. Had to ask for a glass of water and the glasses did not look entirely clean.
It's a big restaurant with a covered, outdoor area which would be good for eating lunch there. It overlooks a nice park and the water, but its the only good thing about the atmosphere of this restaurant. The restaurant seems outdated, like it hasn't been painted or renovated since the 70's. The airconditioning was old and lowing steam and/ or dust over the tables.
I thought the service was poor for a wedding function. They didn't tell us what were we eating and I didn't know as it was Indian cuisine that I'm not familiar with. Having said that, I thought the food was great and very tasty, just enough spice and plenty of food!
We did have a good time because of the Indian music and dancing, but I would probably not got here again on an individual occasion.

I would say one of the best restaurants Harris Park has to offer. The Food all the way to Service had little to nothing to complain about. I went with some of my co workers after one of our major deals had finalised to have some celebratory drinks and authentic Indian food. The greeting prompt, as soon as we walked to the front door there was a waiter ready to greet us, who gladly opened the door for us to walk in.
With the pleasantries completed we were Asked where we'd prefer to sit and dine, not just shoved in some corner to be forgotten. As soon as we previewed the menu, and decided to order the waiter was ready, some of my co workers were non Indian and the waiter have a vast knowledge of the food and how it could be completed with condiments.
After the order was taken, a man from the bar comes to ask for drinks, his knowledge again extensive as well as the array of alcoholic beverages they had from you local VB to a Top Shelf Margerita. We all ordered cocktails which were beautifully garnished and one of the best I've had.
The food came out in good time, the longer it takes the better it should be right? 'Im telling you the entrees (Chicken Tandoori, Fish Tikka, Seekh Kebab, Prawns Tandoori) were worth every single minute for which we had to wait. I felt like I was in India again. In due time the entree plates were removed and the perfectly timed main course had arrived. The presentation of the curries, I must say one of the best in Harris Park.
You could literally see the richness of the food gleaming at you. As we dug in, I could taste the aromas and masalas used delicately to provide the sensations of hot and spicy. What can I say about the naan bread. Perfect. The most even, thin and crispy naan I have ever eaten, just the way I like it.
After we had devoured ourselves silly, we were stuffed. We would've loved to try the Kulfis and Faludas which Chutney had to offer, but I had to leave something for next time. Also tells alot about the portion size of their curries and condiments. Large.
Gladly I had asked the waiter to give the Owner and Chef a thumbs up and that we had a lovely time. To my amazement the Chef walked out and personally thanked me. Wow a first in an Indian Restaurant in Harris Park.
The exciting plesantaries were dealt with and I was on my way home. An experience of a lifetime. If by now you haven't understood what to do I'll say it. Go to Chutneys!

Went here on a Saturday night on a living social voucher. Had to wait quite a while for the entree, which was nice. We were wondering after two hours, yes, 8.30pm when the mains were finally served!
The food was good But the service was dreadful, they seemed to be consumed in takeaway orders. When paying our bill we mentioned to Dell that the service was lacking, he did not take onboard his customers comments. That is why he has to do the voucher thing. Consequently we will not be back. I do think he has a good restaurant and good food but please, listen to your customers, they are your business, if you don't listen...well....
