This is place I would always go back to. The food portions are generous, tasty, good value for money. Highly recommended if you love meat in large portions! Much better value compared to other more popular German restaurants but serving the exact same things. I always order the pork knuckle, if you don't get to finish it, you can always take the rest home so there is no wastage.

The service is attentive but not over bearing. They come when you need them but don't hover over you when you want to be left alone.

The decor/interior is a little aged, but has its own charm to it. The walls could do with a clean but didn't bother me too much.

I've been here a number of times now. Some nights, they could be so busy you won't get a table if you didn't book ahead. And other nights you could be one of two groups in the restaurant. I've experienced both scenarios but each time the food has been amazing.

Large servings and happy service in a quaint old loft-like setting. Unfortunately, my duck was on the tough side and it took more than 30 min for our food to be served.

I was very happy to have chanced upon Maggies during a recent visit to Potts Point. We wandered in to this fabulously kitsch Tyrolean wonderland on a cold night, and the vibe inside was buzzy, fun and cosy.

The service was exactly how I like it, very efficient and friendly without being overly familiar. The menu (both food and drinks) is vast, and the servings are huge. We were slightly concerned they were too big, but we managed to work through it all, because the food is just great: traditional Austrian/ German and middle European dishes. There were 6 of us, and we all really enjoyed our meals.

The Jaeger schnitzel seemed to be the hot favourite, but my personal highlight was the creamed spinach, the only time I have ever tasted better than my Hungarian grandmother's.

The prices were quite reasonable, especially considering the size of the meals.
We would all definitely go back, and I would recommend it for a fun, filling, low-key night out.

My wife and I eat here regularly. It is one of our favourite restaurants in Bondi. The menu has all the Hungarian favourites but a number of other great choices as well. Best Schnitzel in Bondi, amazing veal shanks, Hungarian Goulash, roasted duck etc. Great service and food is consistently very good. Desserts are also amazing, we love the mixed berry crepes. Highly recommend this place.

This place is tucked away and really in the middle of nowhere. Although thats how it seems. Its a great little club and it is a restaurant/pub style dining experience.

Service was a tad slow to get our orders in and then also receive our food. But thats where we went quiet.

There was 5 of us and we got the platter. It was huge and although we can normally eat a lot, we could not finish it! The food seemed very traditional German, the best were the Pork Knuckle and Meat Dumnplings for me. Apple strudel for dessert was also good.

For a local, club type restaurant you will leave very satisfied and Full! Just don't expect any kind of fancy flash place.

What's not to love here? The Kaiser's benevolent gaze from the wall, the wooden chalet furniture, the kitsch charm of the bar. I'm won over by the decor even before I eat.

The menu is agony - how do you choose between schnitzels as big as your plate, with a hidden bomb of rosti beneath the crisp coated meat, and rich goulash with a side of slippery spatzle? Cabbage rolls or deep fried mushrooms? I never can, so I try to eat with a group of friends and taste their meals. Menu envy is very real at Maggie's. There are some new 'light' options, and good on them for caring, but really, who comes here to lose weight!

The portions show typical Teutonic generosity, and the service is very warm and friendly. It can be slightly chaotic in a fun way on busy nights, but they make you feel welcome like family.

I took my wife and family here for mothers day. We were given a set menu for lunch, I would have preferred a full menu but maybe next time on not such a busy day.

The food was fantastic, the beers very refreshing and the desserts finished off a perfect meal. The only disappoint aspect was the service, we had to wait awhile before they took our order, that's ok, but to have to ask for them to clear the table was a bit much. Then for the loonngg wait for dessert with no offer of tea or coffee and a lloonnngggg wait for the bill. I know it's not much so it won't stop us returning.

You will never regret a night at The Rhinedorf-the on tap Erdinger weiss is awesome-mixed cold selection plate is fresh and tasty, the pork knuckle-Omg the taste is as good as the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. Go there you won't regret it. Highly recommended.

Bitterly disappointed considering this restaurant has been around for so long, the service was appalling, seafood was awful, steak was quite nice but absolutely swamped in sauce and above all, very overpriced, can hardly believe this restaurant is still operating.

A warm feeling away from home.

I have been away from France for 8 months now and though I am having the best time ever in Australia, I get the occasional homesick feeling. So what a great comfort it was last night having a nice dinner at Maggies and being looked after as if I was part of the family.

I have to say, Potts Point is not my favourite place in Sydney. Too self-centred, precious, fussy. But right in the middle of no-heart land, I found the warmest place ever, where food is not expensive, really good (try the veal schnitzel with the muchroom sauce aargh) and the staff is really friendly and caring.

Definitely the nicest place in the Eastern Suburbs.

Had a great night out with some of my friends at the Austrian Schnitzelhaus Restaurant. The staff was super friendly and attentive, suggested me the alcoholic Ginger Beer which was a great catch. The entrees have been served within minutes. Wow! Not to forget the Camembert is a must!

I had a Schnitzel for my main. It was delicious, however, I think it's slightly overprized. But then again, the portion size is massive. Couldn't even finish everything though I was starving when I came in. But I still had space for some dessert. Also I was really surprised how busy the place was considering it was a Thursday night. It was packed and the noise level really high.

All in all it's a place I would recommend to everyone who is interested in German cuisine. Go and try it out and have a laugh with the entertaining staff!

Awesome food, great service and value, highly recommend! I went with a group of friends for lunch. I had the onion rings with a special sauce followed by the chicken schnitzel and to finish off a brownie with ice cream etc. Everything was cooked beautifully! Can't wait to eat there again.

If you live anywhere near this place, you have to do yourself a favour and head in and have one of the best meals you will ever have in a pub.

Jay's passion for food come through in shining colours and the value is as good as you will find in Sydney.

One day you will certainly have to pay 5x the price for this food, so head on down, you won't be disappointed.

I love coming to Hux. It really is such good value and I consider it my all time favorite pub! Eat the Hux burger, potato salad and onion rings. Actually eat everything, never had anything that wasn't amazing.

It is lucky that we live in Narellan, so this restaurant is 'our' restaurant.

Great food, service generally is pretty average, but most of the time, once the food hits the table, all is forgiven. Tasty and the owner is German, which is a plus, so you know you're getting the real stuff when it comes out of the kitchen.

Just note, their mega massive Bauernschmaus is for two people only, if a third wants to join in, you'll be charged an additional cover.

Bookings a must if you don't want to risk not getting a table or waiting too long for the turnover.

I went there over the weekend for an early dinner and pre-drinks, the services was slow and got our drink orders wrong, the food was below average, tasted like I was eating stale bread and cheese, then we ordered a bowl of fries which tasted like it was 3 hours old. Very disappointed.

The senior staff makes a fantastic coffee, and the food is very tasty (although slightly small). As a local, we have been here numerous times but this will be our last. The senior staff is a surly man who provides poor service at the best of times, but our experience today won't lead us back here.

Our coffee was lukewarm, and when we asked for a hotter coffee, the senior staff reheated it under a spout and redelivered it. After we paid, I spoke to the owner who was very polite, but after leaving the owner, the senior staff verbally attacked me in the restaurant and wouldn't leave us alone until we left. The owner, unfortunately, did not stop the incident. We won't be returning and will ensure our local friends are aware of this senior staff's inappropriate behaviour.
