Both the trout pate and the BLT were excellent, and so were the chips. Prices may seem a bit steep considering the only menu is at the counter, and that's where you have to order also. But the portions are so large, I'd conisder this place value for money. The lovely setting is just a bonus.

This is an excellent place. Staff are wonderful, the food is simple but so well prepared and delicious. They are local to where we live, so will definitely be a regular customer.

A leopard doesn't change it's spots, I can't think of a better way to sum up the Black Pony Cafe.

The senior staff used to run The Stockmarket Cafe at Leura. Great food at both places, however, the terrible, rude service makes the Black Pony a no go zone for me.

It is such a shame, you would have thought they would have paid attention to the terrible feedback they got in Leura and worked on training up their staff before moving locations and starting again.

Maybe the senior staff just doesn't care but I think they will find they can rely less on one off tourists here and locals just aren't going to put up with plates being slammed down and completely unhelpful rude service. I gave it a go but like my opening sentence stated, nothing has changed here.

I'm disgusted with the poor service here. It seems that the senior staff has no idea about customer service at all. After receiving a take away coffee that had sugar in it (I don't have sugar at all being a diabetic), I informed him over the phone when I ordered the following day what had happened. When I went in to collect my take away coffee he attempted to charge me for it! I explained that I didn't expect to pay for it after throwing out the other one. He was furious and was rude.

How on earth do people think they'll keep customers if they're so short sighted? good customer service goes a long way. That is why I will never return there even though it is one minute from my house. Rather I will back track 10 minutes out of my way to Parc in clovelly st where Michael and all his staff know about wonderful customer service, loyalty and consistently good coffee. It's no wonder they are so busy despite what day of the week it is.

I purchased baby cakes from summer hill several years ago and they were perfect. The icing was smooth, glossy and perfectly applied. The baby cakes were perfect creations, had risen above the paper cases, there wasn't cake dripped on the paper and it was impossible for the home cook to replicate.

Last weekend, I went to baby cakes and was extremely disappointed with the quality. It was evident that the baby cakes were not by Renee and appeared to have been home made. The icing was thick and poorly applied, the mixture did not rise above the paper cases and the paper cases looked messy and unattractive. Charged $1.20 and were overpriced for the standard and quality.

The peak hour wait every morning is just horrific. Step up your game, or I will go elsewhere. I am not the only one to notice how long it takes to get served and receive your takeaway coffee of a morning.

Today, they had one person taking order and the same person making the coffee. C'mon Aboutlife for the prices you charge, we need Faster service.

Food was good. We had the amitriciana, napoletana and prosciutto pastas and soft drinks. Waiter got the prosciutto mixed up with puttanesca but he apologised when the mistake was pointed out. In a few minutes the correct dish was brought out. They welcome children but it's better if your kid can sit up unaided as I don't recall seeing any highchairs.

Wish I tried the coffee, after reading other people's comments!

The Redleaf Pool Cafe is such a gem. Excellent location. A pleasure to spend breakfast or lunch, or just drop in for coffee, whilst looking out to such a stunning view! Food is nice and wholesome.

Having moved from newtown, the home of Campos, to mosman, I thought I'd never find as good a coffee hit. But the Penny Royal delivers in spades. Every time I've been there the coffee has been spot on, had both skim lattes and flat whites and they are both excellent. The staff are down to earth and they make an effort to remember your name.

Change of owners ++++ New, friendly owners who have lowered their prices (how rare is that! $3.80 large coffee, $3.30 reg coffee) and changed their food selection (we tried the cherry ripe slice and the carrot cake - Yummy). Left very happy having received great service, great coffee, great food and value for money.

Check out the raisin toast deal, reg coffee and raisin toast just $5. A real sun trap and when it's cold, cosy fleeces provided. More changes to come with a refit before the Summer but, until then, give them a chance, we'll definitely be back.

A local cafe with the best food, differing vastly from the traditional menus. A wonderful creative taste sensation at a very reasonable price. Mezze plates for both lunch and dessert are a great way to eat with a bunch of girlfriends.

We'd been to Gnome many times for breakfast and lunch as it's a favorite spot.
We recently decided to go there for dinner as we noticed that they opened late on weekends. The chicken casserole was one of the best casseroles that I have ever had. The wine list has some great wines on it and there is also a great local craft beer featured. We'll be back.

Great breakfast. High quality ingredients. Bacon ang eggs cooked perfectly.
Coffee great. Friendly, attentive nice staff. They like our poodle also which is a plus. Highly recommended.

This is my office local and it's a shame I don't drink coffee! but I love coming hear for a quick lunchtime sambo, my fave being the chicken, celery and walnut one. The boys here are always super cool and friendly, they even give hugs if ur feeling sad! keep up the good work, really wish there were more places like this in Sydney where service and quality of food is at its best.
