Well, I have been here 4 times, and the girlfriend over ten. It is that good, for Sydney Korean BBQ. I recommend the Beef Bulgogi when you tired of smelling like BBQ. Girlfriend recommends the seafood pancake. The free dishes with your meal are, well, free. And they are very good.

Korean staff can be a little tricky to communicate with, but that's just fine. Lot's of smiles and our orders have been right every time. Always a good sign, we see heaps of Korean people eating at Madang. We recommend planning for a possible lengthy wait if going at peak time. But, you can get a number, go around the corner for a drink (@3 monkeys), and then get another number when you forget the time. We highly recommend Sydney Madang.

Dinner, party of 6, including 4 Koreans. Supposedly one of the more popular places to eat amongst Koreans looking for a taste of home. The entrance is located in a back alley and we had to sit outside on stools near the rubbish bins (not as bad as it sounds, perhaps, a little jarring for some) for over half an hour before they finally got a table for us. Once inside, I'd say the ambience is ok though. Other than the long wait time, the service was prompt and friendly.

They even gave one of my friends their bottle opener. Food was good. Almost great even. Korean BBQ tends to be a wonderful communal event and I'd say Madang does it well with the marinades and sides. We also had a spicy spam stew which was pretty good. Price wise, pretty much worth it at about $25pp including 2 beers. Perhaps, the Korean contingent making the orders and cutting up the meat made things easier for me though.

I've been there a few times and each time the food was fantastic. Although staff do not understand/speak much English, they definitely try their best.

I really rate this restaurant, have been many times. One thing I would say is that the 'Pan-chan' (side-dishes) are not as numerous or varied as some other Korean restaurants and certainly nowhere near as in Korea itself. The BBQ is very good always, and the atmosphere is great. Simple equation, go where the Koreans go.

Eating in Korean restaurants is far more sociable than western culture as you share, take your time and pick. I note a negative comment about the wine previously. How many Koreans can you see drinking wine in this restaurant? None. Drink Soju. Traditional rice liquor. Not only does it compliment the spice, but it makes your head very warm and fluffy nice. Highly rated all round meal experience.

I went there for dinner with 3 friends on a Sunday night and it was fantastic! A Korean friend had recommended me this restaurant. We booked a table and when we arrived it was ready for us as requested.

The place was busy but it was not difficult to get service. The food arrived quickly and in very generous servings. The beef and 5-mushroom hot pot was delicious. The seafood pancake was huge (the small serve is more than enough as an entree) and perfectly cooked. We also had the chilli calamari and bibimbap, both were very good.

The complimentary side dishes were very generous in size. The whole time we were there, there was a queue of people waiting to get in, so I recommend booking. I note another reviewer felt rushed by the staff, but on this occasion we had no complaints about the service.

No doubt, one of the best Korean food in Sydney. You cannot miss the seafood pancake, it was taste sensation. Also the hot pot or BBQ were safe choice although it would be a bit spicy. The only thing I would suggest is to upgrade the wine list as it was a disaster. The wines were mismatchng with the food and taste bad.

The service was fast but not many waitstaff can speak good English but I guess it added some authentic elements to Asians cuisine. Definitely come back for the food.

Went there on sunday night close to midnight, and it was packed!! It reminds me a lot of a local in Seoul.. I felt a little rushed by the wait staff but the value and food leave you feeling satisfied.
