I had a fantastic birthday experience at Sydney Dance Company Lounge. Marco called me regarding my booking for 25 people for my birthday and suggested he set up my tables near the lounge area so my guests could have a pre-dinner drink. He also said we could order anything we liked from the a la carte menu (no strict requirements for set courses or minimum spend) and when we arrived they had made a special fruit Sangria punch bowl for my birthday which was very reasonably priced!

The food was amazing as well. I wasn't sure what it would be like given the price is cheaper than a lot of places but it was amazing! Everyone seemed very happy with their meals and most of my friends said they would go back. I chose eggplant fritters which were delish and a prawn risotto, excellent quality and lots of prawns!

All in all a pleasurable and stress free experience which was exactly what I wanted for my b'day.

I've been coming here for a while now. Usually pre theatre however I also like to come down with the friends and family for outings. The menu and servise is impecable. I highly recommend this space. Our waiter Nicko was amazing.

I brought colleagues here from USyd as part of a Sydney tour for an international guest. We were really pleased with the freshness, quality and presentation of the food. Well done!

We always come here before seeing a show put on by the Sydney Theatre Company and every time we aren't disappointed. The waiters are always cheerful and chatty and the food is fantastic. Most places in the area have extremely over priced food, but for what you get the prices are very reasonable.

A lovely restaurant with great food but average service. The fish was the freshest I've had in a long time and cooked to perfection, and the rocket, walnut and pear salad was a delight. Only negative was the service which was a little slow but overall a nice dining experience. Good value for money in Walsh Bay.

Geez having read the reviews below I may have been to this place on a bad night. The noise in the background was only just bearable, but then the staff was rude and unfriendly even though we made a reservation we waited for 15 minutes to be seated. Then to top it all off the food was cold by the time the waiter brought it to our table. When you are paying top dollar for a meal before the theatre you expect it to be fast, hot and provided with a smile.

We got none of these things at the Sydney Dance Cafe, the management was uninterested in what we had to say about the situation. The restaurant itself looks appealing I like the decor, but funky decor does not make up for terrible overpriced service. We will not be returning here again!

Just went there recently had a dinner before the theater. What a place! They've renovated the place recently and I have to say that the place looks exceptional, never been to a venue that is rustic, funky warm and relaxing. The food was also exceptional, I had the pan fried salmon with potato and spinach tart and sauce vierge two thumbs up! The staff was very warm and helpful. Can't wait to go there for dinner next time!

What am amazing refurbishment! The place looks incredible. I had a cocktail in the new lounge bar a few weeks ago and I must say one of the best new looking spots in the Sydney Rocks/ Walsh Bay area. Looking forward to Friday drinks again - keep up the great work!

I have visited the Sydney Dance Café a number of times in the last few months. I highly recommend it. It has a great vibe and feel to the place. The atmosphere is energetic yet still inviting and warm. The staff have always been very friendly when I have visited and willing to help out.

The location is great on the harbour and it is so close to the theatres, perfect for a drink or some food pre-theatre. I believe comparatively to its competitors, the Sydney Dance Café represents very good value for money. Overall, a café in a great location with a cool vibe, definitely worth checking out.

Been to this place a few times, great meals and good value for harbor side location. Night time they trade more like a casual cafe/bar. Amazing ambience, people watching is entertaining. Dancers, actors and corporates, a truly unique vibe. Their chocolate brownies are amazing.
