We are regulars to Sushi Club, the tempura is some of the best we have had, and we normally get take away with sushi/sashimi, tempura and teriyaki. Great bang for your buck and all the food is fantastic. I would recommend again and again.
As regular customers of Japanese casual dining, we are always looking for quality sushi at good value for money. Having recently visited the restaurant across the road we noticed Sushi Club. Sushi Club does not look as modern although it is no indication of the quality of the food.
This has been our second time there and we were more than satisfied. We had the vegetarian sushi roll, California sushi roll and salmon and avocado roll (this was not on the menu though they happily made it for us). We both agreed that the fish is high quality, the rice is just right, (not dry) and the size of the sushi is suitable (Good ratio of rice to fish, pieces are more on the bigger side but not too big you can't fit it in your mouth). The visual presentation of the food is very neat, served on gorgeous Japanese glazed plates with matching tea cups.
The service is courteous and polite, we will definitely become regulars there. Also forgot to mention there is free miso soup and a pot of Japanese green tea when you make your order. Try Sushi Club, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Mr Kim is a genius I eat there, and wonder how such perfection is possible, its cosy and the atmosphere is simple, it roots itself within the quality of the food, The sashimi is to die for and the sushi exquisite. Friendly and humble service. Please try.
I absolutely adore this little Japanese/Korean place. As noted by other reviewers its food is extremely fresh. It rivals Sushi-e and Tetsuya! No I'm not kidding! It is simple yet very delicious and really kills the competition across the street which, although 'looks nicer' has overpriced and low quality food. I live in Pyrmont and go there with my friends and family often, almost twice a week. They are always friendly and rarely busy. Which suits me since there is always a table waiting.
Definitely recommend but they are closed on Tuesdays, so avoid disappointment and don't go then.
Went there on a Saturday night and surprisingly I was the only one there. I ordered the medium sushi - sashimi plate upon recommendation by another user on this site. Everything on the plate was very fresh and tasted very good but my only complaint was that the entire plate was tuna and salmon, with the exception of one piece of prawn sushi. The service was very good and friendly, and price was definitely reasonable (14.50). I would highly recommend this place for any first time sushi goers, as everything was fresh and not overcomplicated!
I'm a regular local in Pyrmont and always choose this option over the more flashy Jap/Korean establishment across the street. Very simple & cosy little eat - in with an oriental "cuteness" which gives it an authentic experience. This restaurant caters more Staff are super friendly and very attentive. The seafood udon noodle soup is to die for and under $10. I've eaten here over 50 times and the food has always been fresh. Best thing is - this joint is open all day, everyday.
I went to Sushi Club on Thursday night because it was recommended by one of my friend and also the good comments about this place from the reviewers. After I dined out here, I was so disappointed with the food. I ordered "Harbour Bridge" - the combination of Sushi and Sashimi. The fish are not fresh. I will never return there again. Waste my time... and not enjoyable at all..
We chose this restaurant as a pot luck guess on a Saturday night and were very pleasantly surprised to find fabulous sushi and sashimi ... great value and service as well ... we'll be back soon.
This place is a fantastic, simple Japanese/Korean restaurant. I live in Pyrmont and go to no other Japanese place but this one. In all the times I have gone with my family, we are always extremely satisfied with the food, ambience, service and the value is excellent. The people are always very friendly and the restaurant itself is in a nice, cosy corner. My favourites are the Chicken Katsudon, Fish/Chicken Teriyaki (absolute favourite), Garage Chicken (bizarre name but delicious) and so many others. A must for deliciously simple Japanese and Korean cuisine.
This is possibly the best Sushi and Sashimi in Sydney. True value for money.
A "medium" sized sushi/sashimi plate consists of a variety of at least 3 to 4 different types of fish plus cuttlefish and if the staff really likes you, he might throw in an oyster topped with caviar as a treat!! There are approximately 8 pieces of sushi and approx 12-15 pieces of sashimi served with fresh ginger and wasabi. The food is consistently great and the cost is $14.50. You truly cannot get this type of meal for this price anywhere else. They also make an unreal seaweed salad. I have focused solely on the sushi/sashimi but everything from bento boxes to soups are A class in taste and value.
