The pile of Asians in here eating are usually just tourists who walked straight down the corso and this is the only Japanese place amongst them. So don't think this is the best sushi joint in the world. Good, cheap and fresh sushi train I come to often.
I always like to visit this Sushi Bar. The food is always good and the prices fair. Unfortunately, lately the portions seem to be decreasing on a such a regular basis that lately they are approaching tiny.
Having eaten at quite a few sushi restaurants in Sydney, I was looking forward to eating at Sushi Bar Taka, but was disappointed. Firstly the service was very poor, only two waiting staff for the whole restaurant, one of which was taking payments most of the evening. We ate for about 30 minutes before the waitress asked us if we wanted drinks.
The sushi portions was smaller than other sushi bars and I'm not convinced all of it was fresh. There wasn't much variety or dishes on the sushi train although there did seem to be quite a few vegetarian options which I thought was strange for a sushi restaurant.
The bill at the end wasn't huge so it was reasonable value, but there are certainly many better sushi places in Sydney and the North Shore.
Have been here twice for lunch and the food is always fresh, delicious, and good value. I've only tried their sushi but am very keen to go back again and try some of the other dishes on the menu! Lunch has usually cost me about $13-15 including a can of coke.
For a nice, cheap, quick lunch this sushi place is great. Warm in winter, cool in summer it's a real comfortable place to eat. The food is consistently good and the variety of sushi dishes is great. We had lunch there today and for 2 hungry people the bill was $22 including complimentary tea.
Fantastic little Sushi bar, friendly and quiet. I found it a few years ago exploring Manly and you wouldn't even know it was there. Tasty sushi, friendly staff and even the other customers are friendly and helpful. Hang on.... on second thoughts, maybe I should say its horrible so that you don't all go!
This place is great, one of the best Sushi bars I've been to. We've been going there since it opened, the chefs and the wait staff have always been extremely polite and it's great value in a suburb full of overpriced venues. Totally worth it!
