We love this restaurant. The food is never disappointing. The chef seems enlightened and the staff are sparkling jewels on a good night! The food is heavenly.

Good Japanese restaurant. The portions are a little smaller compared to other restaurants, but the prices are reasonable and the quality is very good. Run by Japanese and not Koreans, so it is an authentic restaurant. Very fresh food and friendly staff. Definitely one of the more authentic and better Japanese restaurants around with some different dishes on the menu.

Good Japanese. We took young kids in early on a Friday, but that probably wasn't a good idea. The restaurant is quite quiet, so I felt a bit self-conscious with our noisy two year old. It'd be better for couples and small groups.

We've been going to Sushi Studio for the Sushi and Sashimi for over 3 years now and always leave happy and full.
Have recently started branching out to the specials menu, and had would highly recommend it. The Chicken ball (minced Chicken meatballs in a Teriyaki sauce) are very tasty, as is the Salmon or Kingfish 'jewel' (part of the fish jaw).
Always love the Sashimi Main, Eel Special Rolls, and the Aburi Sashimi (usually Bonito with a Garlic and Soy dressing - yum!).
The staff are lovely and friendly. It's a really popular, buzzy spot so makes sense to book a table (or a seat at the Sushi / Sashimi Bar) if you are aiming to be there during peak dinner time (7 - 8.30pm).

I am a Japanese so trust me on this. This guy Taka-san is the one of the very few properly trained proper Sushi chef in Sydney. It is true. You can see little bit of works (like a proper hidden cuts on the back of your sushi, Suki Konbu work, Zuke work, etc.) Brilliant works laid out for you for a very affordable price. As for the menu, you can order ala carte for your sushi from sushi bar. If you want to experience a proper clean sushi, you should look no further.

This is a decent-enough sushi restaurant in Neutral Bay.
Service is friendly, efficient and polite, food is fresh and tasty and the atmosphere is homely and relaxed, if a tad noisy, due to its kiddie-friendliness. We were unlucky enough to sit next to a family of six including four young children, but once they left things settled down to a quieter rhythm.
We had booked ahead which was just as well since the place was fairly full. Apart from the main seating area, there is also a sushi bar counter. This seems to have created some confusion with the menu as it’s hard to figure which part of the menu applies to the sushi bar and what applies to the regular tables. Also, next time you print the menu guys, try running the spellchecker through it. Doesn’t harm to show respect to your host country’s language!
We started with a salmon sushi plate, a tempura plate (comprising battered prawns, onions and vegetables) and a serve of chicken skewers. The sushi had five generous pieces and tasted delicious. The tempura was a little bland but the chicken skewers didn’t disappoint. For mains we had salmon teppanyaki and rolled beef.
The salmon comprised a nicely presented dish of cut pieces and coleslaw. It was ideal for sharing. The rolled beef was an unusual dish that I hadn’t seen before. It looked a bit like sausages but was really finely sliced tender pieces of beef rolled up and with a dash of avo in the middle. I liked the firm taste and texture of the meat. For dessert we shared a single tiramisu which was a pleasant surprise. It was soft as butter and not too sugary. All the portions were generous sizes.
We paid $84 for that lot, including two drinks. A tad expensive I thought but then that’s probably because this is Neutral Bay. Toilets are small but easy to find, clean and well stocked. Being a Sunday we were able to find parking along Military Rd where restrictions end at midday on Saturday. This is a pleasant place that’s worth a second visit.

Best Sushi I have had north of the bridge. Staff are very friendly, even if their english isn't great, they try hard, and if they need help they get somebody else to help out. They know us now, and remember what we like and don't like! other meals we've tried are good too, tuna cheeks, chicken dishes and tempura are all good. Not the cheapest sushi in Neutral Bay, but worth it.

We have been eating here a number of times and were never disappointed. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh, the salmon toro from the a la carte menu is exceptionally good. Twice already they made us squid sashimi to order which were exquisite, tender and so fresh. Try their kaiso salad which comes with a delicious japanese dressing and a lot of wakame on top.
The service is a bit of a hit and miss. The waitresses have problems to see or hear anything and you need to attract their attention. The guys are more switched on, however.
