Where do I start. Firstly the food was decent (when it arrived). Our first meal took 1 and a half hours to come out, then after two hours we asked where my main meal was and they said the kitchen staff forgot about it. Then we asked for the bill and it took 25 minutes to come out. As we approached the front desk we expressed our anger and asked for a discount on the bill, they rudely declined and were very blunt about it. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I felt this was definitely deserved.

I have eaten here with my family many times. We all love it except when there is no table available (so book!). The sushi is excellent and fresh. My favourite dish is the deep fried camembert in a sauce that is 'Out of this world!' All the other usual dishes taste fabulous and are served with the best Japanese side salad ever.
Good sized portions for sharing with my family of five! Value for money is terrific. The ambience is good but I just love sitting outside in the open air when available. Love it!

My new faaaavourite Japanese place. Beautiful sashimi - always fresh and varied, excellent nasu dengaku, and decent sized wines! I hate stingy wine portions.
I come here once every few weeks and am always astounded at the value. No matter how much I eat, it always comes in at around $20! Worth booking a table as it can be randomly busy. Don't tell too many people about this gem or I'll be sad.

I love eating at Sushi Masa, Its refreshing to find authentic Japanese cuisine cooked by authentic Japanese chefs. They offer a fairly limited selection of dishes on their menu, but of the few things they cook, they certainly cook them well. I recommend ordering an entree of gyoza and the combination dish for mains, it provides you with the opportunity to sample a few of the main dishes on offer.

I went Friday night with my friends. Arrived 15 minutes earlier than booking time. Even though there are some seats available, we were told to wait until time.
Food is quite nice, real Japanese dining. If 'flexible' service will be able to provide, it would be much better.

Can't say enough good things about this hidden gem of a restaurant. Lovely staff, delicious food, very reasonable prices. I'm so glad it's a quick walk from my home.

I love coming here. The food is always fresh and tasty, service is quick and personal (with the regular top ups of the green tea).
Everything we have tried here has been great, but our favourite dishes would have to be the Karage Chicken and Sashimi Platter. The sashimi is always so fresh and you know that its made on the spot as it requires a little wait as there's only one sushi chef hand making everything. Worth the wait I tell you!
Remember to book beforehand on Friday and Saturday nights to secure a table at this fantastic place :D

I went for lunch last Saturday after reading all the raves on this site. They have a $15 lunch special on Saturdays and Sundays. I foolishly assumed that I would not get much in the way of sushi for $15, so I also ordered the blackboard special of gyozas (6 pieces for $8.80). The sushi arrived (8 pieces plus a tuna roll) and it looked meticulously presented.
There were inclusive side dishes of agedashi tofu (deep fried bean curd in a bonito soup), which was delicate and beautifullty flavoured, a side salad of mixed greens dressed with a soy/onion dressing and miso soup. It was huge and I really didn't need the gyozas! However, I am glad I had them as they are the best I have had since Tokyo, certainly the best I have had in Sydney.
Overall, I was very impressed and will be returning again very soon.

In a strange location, but walking distance from hy house, I finally got round to trying this place and I will definitely be back for more. Simply beautiful food. Sashimi was delectable, sushi roll was a perfect size and the soft shell crab was possibly the best I have ever tasted. Ordered an udon noodle soup with tempura selection (under $11) and struggled to get through it even though I shared it with my partner, great value, beautifully soft noodles and gorgeous tempura prawns.
Awesome.
