We have eaten here before and were really happy so bought a livingsocial coupon, bad idea. I don't understand why Sunil's chose to give bad options on a limited menu that did not show off it's good food. My idea would be that you offer the coupon to then get people to regularly come back.
This is definitely not the case with the menu on offer. Sure you need the money but happy customers are returning customers is that not better than people saying it was rubbish? With new restaurants opening all the time in the area I think using the limited menu was a big fail!

Make sure you meet Sunil, he is a treasure, and will delight in telling you how he prepares his best recipes. There is no risk in you making them at home because the time, complexity and the range of spices he uses is exhausting. The food is the best part.

We had dinner here and we were really disappointed.
The entrees were quite nice but it all went downhill from there! We had the chicken curry and the goat curry and they were below average. You can find the same quality or even better in any food court.
We had the kiri pani for dessert and it was yogurt with a side of treacle syrup, literally! Unfortunately, I won't be back here and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Service can't get any worse. They took our order of Naan and then after waiting for 15 minutes asked the chef and he said that they don't have any Naan and he never received any order for it. The entree' tasted stale and even the chicken dish was below average. We are definitely never going back.

Love the food at Sunils, the service was Great but the decor is very outdated. Worth eating there though. Really love the food and the dessert. Plenty of parking and reasonable price.

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a Sri Lankan friend. Always a good thing. After reading the reviews below I expected the service to be ordinary and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were prompt, helpful and friendly. The food was delightful and I highly recommend "Sunil's Favourite" lamb. Sunil himself came around the tables to chat, which was nice. It was a Saturday night but the place was not packed as it should be. I think its a hidden gem.

I must say I was a little disappointed after reading all the rave reviews - the food is good but typical small serves, not as someone suggested as bigger than the usual! The wine list was very basic, but reasonable as suggested, I'd prefer to take my own quality wine for $20, service was great, but the place was quiet (Tue night) as to the comment about being recently 'done-up'. Mmm it is ok!

Food here is really excellent. Service was pretty variable, when staff came to the table they were pleasant and courteous. At the end of our meal, Sunil, the owner, visited and was extremely helpful and pleasant. Decor fresh but very sound reflective so is a little noisy. Would definitely go again.
When we arrived we were seated at a wobbly table. Staff moved us to another table, also wobbly! We were given menus and then, about half an hour later, had our orders taken. This included our drinks order.
Entree arrived about 20 minutes later, but no wine yet. Asked about wine. About ten minutes later were told 'sorry, we're out of that'. Changed order and found about 10 minutes later again that they were out of the second one. Just as well we'd brought our own!
Entree was a delicious 'pan roll' each, quite small and, perhaps, not really for two to share as an only entree, especially after being there for an hour.
Mains arrived in pretty much perfect time after entree, so it looks like the kitchen isn't the hold up with timing.
We had the goat curry and potato in cumin and which was really excellent, although, perhaps, a little less spicy than we might have expected. Very tasty though with wonderful flavours infused through the meat.
We also had the potato in cumin and mediterranean(?) fish. Again, wonderful flavours and a really excellent presentation. Hoppers were a delightful accompaniment. Having completed the meal, the owner popped by the table and we chatted for a short while. He was most apologetic about the wine stuff up. We were still looking for a little more food, perhaps, with a little extra spice. Sunil suggested the Chicken Tikka, which is normally a dish I wouldn't order. It was really excellent, bit more spice (as we'd asked) and again a great infusion of flavours).
Will definitely be back!

This is really a must. I have eaten once Sri Lankan while in Kuala Lumpur and I liked it. So we tried Sunil's. It is quite hot but great food. We loved it. Also Sunil takes time to talk to his customers. Do not do BYO! This was our learning as the wines are not expensive and his winelist includes Brown Brothers at 18-19 dollar. We will be back.

Beautifully re-decorated the food is simply outstanding, the Butter Chicken to die for good range of beverages, authentically Sri Lankan with no apologies as it should be the hoppers and Dozza's are a must try. Very well done a true high quality meal at reasonable prices that people can afford and all that with an affable host could not ask for a better dining experience certainly way better than the local chew and spew Indian.
