Had dinner at the Summit for the first time. Like most Sydney siders I always figured this was an ordinary restaurant and just a place to take tourists if there was nowhere else to go, well it lived up to all expectations. Food was just Ok, service was the worst I've had anywhere on the planet and the prices are a bit silly.
Really...$50 main and $40 entree for basic stuff. Obviously you are just paying for the view, which is no longer that extraordinary considering the built out location. The kicker was the tacky line on the menu stating you must order minimum of two courses only, real truckstop stuff.

This was a perfect venue! Perfect view, excellent service, great food. The attention to detail was great we were greeted at the entrance with perfect friendliness and the little touch of remembering our occasion for this outstanding dinner. We even got little separate plates with the dessert with "Happy Anniversary" written on in chocolate. That's what I call service quality. I would recommend this outstanding restaurant to anyone!

Stunning views and I'd recommend coming for that alone, particularly if you're visiting Sydney.
Unfortunately, that is what you're paying for as the food and service don't match up to the prices they charge. I had duck for main and it was bland and overcooked. The seafood starter was nice and my boyfriend enjoyed his meal, you'd just expect higher quality.
The service is slow, it's nice to be left to take your time to enjoy the view but I had to get up to order drinks as so much time had passed.
It's worth a visit for the stunning 360 views, just bare in mind that's what you're paying for, not fantastic food.

I loved my night out at Summit. I had been wanting to come here for ages but was put off because of some of the negative reviews I'd seen. I'm glad I tried it for myself because it turned out to be an awesome night. For starters, the view and general feel of the restaurant is awesome, and those cocktails rock. When it came time for our meal, I had the spatchcock which was so yummy, and I could not go past the souffle for dessert.
I wasn't disappointed at all. The food and the view makes for a very romantic date spot! Loved it! All I would say is before you write it off, give it a try. I bet you're pleasantly surprised.

We had a lovely lunch with my parents for their wedding anniversary and am surprised about the poor reviews as we were impressed with the food and the service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning one day.

Great view completely spoilt by incredibly disappointing service. The waitress gave us the wrong bill then practically threw the correct bill on the table. At this pricing level one should expect high quality service. Go anywhere for better service.

Besides the view, unfortunately there is not much more I can say that is good about The Summit. For such a stylish restaurant, I was expecting the service to be excellent but instead found it to be disappointing. The waiters seemed to be rushing throughout the night and were not very friendly to our table. Besides a few good dishes such as the grilled fish and oysters, most of the other dishes were quite average.

We had dinner there for my wife's 30th last sat and I must say that the whole experience was amazing, the food was great tasty and good size portions too! The service was very attentive but not over the top and the bill while high was what I expected of a restaurant of this calibre.

Would never go back! I took my staff and their partners to dinner at the beginning of December - 18 people. On arrival we were told we couldn't have cocktails as the bar was full despite having advised the restaurant beforehand that's what we wanted to do. We were then forced to sit at our tables for cocktails not allowing us to relax and mixed. When it came time to order dinner, my GM circled the floor 3 times to find a waiter to take our orders. This was about 1 1/2 after arrival.
The service was extremely poor to say the least. Dishes we ordered were either not available or not the menu that night. The food was average and overpriced. When the bill arrived at $3,500 to say I almost had heart failure was an understatement. The following Monday we wrote to the senior staff and management. The only response we go was a phone call to say sorry. No offer of some form of compensation for a bad night. Not good enough!
I have spread the word - overpriced, bad service and ordinary food. Very disappointing. Having read the other reviews, one wonders why these issues aren't addressed. The management should read these reviews and take note!

I am lucky enough to try quite a few restaurants (some for business and some with friends) at all levels and price points. The Summit is about the only one for a couple of years where I have not enjoyed the experience.
The view is great. The food, unfortunately, was just ok, nothing wrong with it but I would have expected more than that there. And I agree with the other reviews. Service was poor. Initially the waiters were nice enough but just not around enough. It seemed as the day went on that they had no interest in customers. As there seemed to be a few of them I assume those running the floor don't care. If it aims to be a quality restaurant with high prices I think it has a long way to go.
