This place has definitely taken a dive for the worse. From what once was an amazing restaurant with food to die for, I had booked a table for 4, a big occasion for my family who had never been here. It was simply atrocious.

The waiter spilled the water pouring it into the glass! The same waiter, after forgetting to bring out the bread and butter, Finally made the arrival 30 minutes later, to not only drop the bread onto the floor, but also the butter.

After bringing out 3 meals, asking several times for the 4th, which, 15 minutes later arrived, the other 3 plates were cold. 4 waiters interrupted our conversation just to say "Excuse me, but how are you finding everything?" Really?

Dessert. Sickly sweet we could not finish it. The souffle had apparently -"Fallen out of the oven" And that same waiter had the nerve to ask if we still actually wanted it, or if we wanted a spoon full of ice cream instead? You a foolish person. Why not bring out the icecream, Then say the souffle was in an accident, and another one is on its way?

Time management people. Will not be returning which is a shame because ever Valentines day from 2006 I was there. without fail. Not recommended.

First time visitor to this establishment recently. Overrated, overpriced, inconsistent meals, should I continue?

We had a party of 14 people. Several of us ordered the grilled salmon fillet. When it arrived, we noticed that the fillet size varied from plate to plate. Not by a little, but hugely. The thickness was consistent but the width of my peice was 1.5 inches while the person next to me had one that was 3.5 inches wide. The sizing was all over the place.

The Fish tasted nice and was cooked perfectly but I was still hungry! Dessert was nice, tiny, but nice. I thought the meals were over priced and they slug you hard for drinks. The staff were generally indifferent. My second coffee never arrived.

Would not go back by choice. What ever happened to creating a "dining experience"? It's not that hard. Consistent food, reasonable prices for what is offered and staff that are "people friendly" and not just grumpy robots.

Having eaten at Summer Salt a number of times when we found there was a cruise ship in at Quay blocking the view we shifted our daughters 17th birthday closer to home and with a view.

Total disappointment, the maitre d' had to go and ask our waiter to serve us after we sat at the table for 20 minutes and then he came and welcomed us to the VIP section, yeah right. Bread arrived after we reminded them, and then that was in the middle of entree. Wagyu was overcooked, despite asking for rare to medium rare, we filled our own wine glasses, the gnocchi was in an oil bath and not once was the birthday acknowledged.

Sorry but if the wait staff wants to talk about their social life, do what the rest of us do...in our own time, don't smile and smarm and expect me to be charmed....food does the talking along with prompt and proper service, so poor in comparison to less $$ at Arras (hatted) for last years birthday, Cafe Sydney, just a nice lunch, and in Bundaberg!

Stop resting on laurels and wake up guys, a $600 lunch for 4 needs to be better than the local Vietnamese.

Being new to the shire from the eastern suburbs I am pleasantly surprised by the standard of Summer Salt and its city atmosphere. I would call myself a foodie and am so glad I have found my new local restaurant in the shire.

The food is of equal to any top notch city restaurant and the service is relaxed, approachable and friendly, not to mention the amazing Sommelier Noel who is a far cry from any snobby city sommelier. I don't think the shire really understands the quality of Summer Salt but I am glad it is my new found local.

Amazing food. By far the best restaurant in the Sutherland Shire. The degustation menu with matching wines is a must do for a special occasion. Not cheap, but a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Totally full but not bloated. Would definitely return.

I had lunch with three other friends, all of us who haven't been back for years. What happened here? So much has changed for the worse. Where is Dom and Carl?
Such a beautiful location and such history. Such a shame.

There has been a slow and relentless decline with this place for some time. There is much better value and quality for considerably less in the area. Will probably not revisit this place.

Have been several times now, and each time I am disappointed in the service from the staff. They seem very full of themselves, as if we patrons are below them. Food is also average for the prices you pay. There are many better restaurants around for the same value. To top the night off, when the waitress took our bill, the change was never brought back to the table for us to decide on the tip! Very presumptous and arrogant!

We have eaten here many times over the years and know the Staff but will not be going back. The food quality has been slipping and the service was very poor. The prawns for entree were still raw the risotto with the lamb wasn't cooked and the waiter had no idea how to take a plate back to the Chef and we weren't offered a replacement or a discount off our meals. An expensive lesson in where not to eat! Very disappointed for the Shire.
