Amazing, this was our first time here and the food was fantastic, much better than the Turkish food in Turkey (where we recently went). The atmosphere is great and is was fun just watching the bread etc being prepared. We had the mixed dip plate, pide, chicken shish and iskender, all very tasty. Make sure you go with an empty stomach though.
Simply my favorite restaurant, brilliant food. The pides and dip platter are simply amazing. Ambience is great and the smokey front area just drags people in off the street to taste what smells so good. Nice relaxed attmosphere, BYO without any charge, great value too. Brilliant.
It was a busy Sat night but an early 6.30 booking. Food can’t be criticised. It was very nice but this is the only positive. The presentation of the food could be improved drastically.
My impression is that they are highly inexperienced restaurateurs and I’m making that comparison because they are charging for it. We ordered the banquets at $35 each. Bathroom facilities are in the dark. No lights. Service was friendly but very rushed. The waiters are running around the place all night. Highly distracting. They’re not understaffed, just unskilled as they are not coping and I counted at least four wait staff for the outdoor seating area.
Every time the waiter came to speak with us, he was always out of breath, perspiring, B.O. smelly and his mind was always with other tables. Horrible. We were in disbelief.
The ambience feels like someone’s backyard with some plastic shelter overhead. It’s the middle of winter and they have gas and electric heaters everywhere but nothing was on. We dog bagged and noticed although they took care to strategically place the food, albeit it was in cardboard pizza boxes. They should place some waxed paper to line these boxes at the very least. Disappointing but laughable night out.
Fabulous food and great quantities. Very reasonably priced. We were outside in the courtyard and that was just so so, but well worth going to, I'll certainly go again.
A friend of mine had recommended this place, so we decided to check it out. Hadn't made a booking but the waiter managed to seat our group of 7. Service was exceptional and the food was divine, my favourite would have to be the kofte, while the iskender kebab came a close second (just about melted in my mouth). Definitely plan to visit again.
We like this little eatery! Wife and I went early one week night for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. We hadn't read any reviews and really just walked in from off the street. We were lead to the back courtyard which was nicely heated and served immediately (it was very early, mid-week and there was only one other couple there at the time). We ordered the potato pide ($11) and the mixed kebab ($14). Both were very appetising and good sized servings. We'll definitely go again.
The dips here are amazing, such good value for food. Between two people we order mixed dip plate, pide, and had to cancel the kebab plate because we were so stuffed! Worked out less than $40 total, and we had to roll out the door because we were so full. Will definitely be back.
We have eaten here several times previously, this time we took my brother and his wife here last weekend. We ordered the mixed dips to share and two mixed meat platters. Everyone loved the food, my brother and his wife preferred this meal ($20 per head) to another five star restaurant ($100 per head)! Everything is fresh and fully of flavoured. The potato pide is to die for. We left completely satisfied and took some desserts away with us for later, which were delicous. Will definitely eat here again, and again! Great Turkish food!
On the one hand I want to shout to the world of the splendours awaiting out the back of this very ordinary looking take-away joint, but on the other, I want to keep this squishy little venue a secret to myself. The reason? I don't want the quality of the food to be destroyed by the descending hoards. Nobody I've sent here has ever been sorry.
They keep coming back and introducing their friends to the smokey flavours of the chicken kebab, the special dual sauce of the Iskender, and the amazing medley of beetroot, carrot, tzatziki (and more) dips with turkish bread. A word to the wise: the dips are filling, so get them take-away while you gorge on the rest of the menu!
