$5 buys you a big meal here. The cooking is not spectacular but it's $5 food after all. We ordered steak, lasagne and fish and chips. All served with proper sides, nice salad and plenty of chips. The fish and chips was just as good other dishes which I've paid three times as much for. The steak was cooked nicely, and served with mash, which was also good. The lasagne was a bit soft and watery, although the flavour was fine. The food comes really fast, it's self service, you pick it up from the kitchen counter when your buzzer goes off.

Salmon steak for $10 is pretty good. $5 chicken schnitzel is good for the price too...as far as $5 pub meals go this place is good.

Love this place. the food is good for the price. Drinks are standard for Sydney. Staff are really friendly. Best place to go for a after work drink or late night feed. Can get feed up till 3 am. What more do you want?

Waited 40 minutes for simple fish and chips on 14 January. Ordered at 7:20 pm and waited till 8 pm. The pager provided me with never buzzed. When I eventually questioned where my food was, the kitchen staff told me it had already been collected! Cannot recommend.

Great feed, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. It has a real pub atmosphere which alot of pubs lack in these days.

Nice to find a pub that is still interested in giving something more than pokies, average food and an empty wallet. Both times we have been here, there has been quality live jazz and a full house of people really enjoying themselves which adds to any dining experience. The $5 steaks are more than adequate although I wish they would offer chips instead of mash and the ability to choose your sauce rather than the pot luck system of "sauce of the day." The quality of the beef is very good especially when you consider the price and was delivered rare as ordered. One of the better Sydney cheap steak outlets. And free jazz too!

Food is cheap (especially if you go for the $5 menu + a drink). Steak can be a bit hit and miss. You don't go for the atmosphere. It's a convenient pub to grab a quick feed.

It use to be excellent $5 steak, but like Foresters, the quality of it has dropped. Ordered med-rare, got well-done. Ordered rare, got medium. Drinks $3 for soft-drink, which is a bit much. Service was a bit crap last time as well, girl stuffed up the order, and put it on the wrong pager. She looked hung-over. It is holiday season... Gets very HOT during summer, because they only turn on 1 air-conditioner at a time (for teh WHOLE place!). Please step-up the quality agian, then it wll be the best $5 steak once again.
