Good, basic takeaway lunch fare if you're in a rush, but this place hits it's straps as an breakfast/lunch cafe with an innovative and tempting eat-in menu that changes daily. Nice atmosphere, plenty of space, friendly service (although there can be some colourful discussions overheard from the kitchen at times). I'd highly recommend both their coffee and their corn fritters, although I'm yet to finish the fritters as it's like three meals in one!

Place was decent but pretty standard fare. Big breakfast was of good quality but nothing you can't get from a hundred other places in Sydney. Coffee was very good and the decor and atmosphere nice, it did, however, seem a little too spaced out. Also noticed that they were not using airconditioning to warm the place on a particularly cold day. Overall decent but nothing special.

We were on a voucher and found this to be quite nice. The place is spacious and the service and coffee were excellent. The food, although not spectacular, was pretty good. The salmon was especially nice. I would certainly recommend!

Tucked away in one of the back streets in Surry Hills, the place is a lot bigger than I imagined. Not hard at all to find street parking on a Saturday morning, the restaurant was half full when we walked in and the owner/manager welcomed us with a huge smile.

Food was not bad but left something to be desired for and I found the serving size a bit small. My partner ordered an egg benedict with salmon but instead got ham. A small hiccup whic was quickly rectified.

Service was very friendly if a bit slow, given the place was only half full and there were 3 floor staff, perhaps better training is needed to improve efficiency? All in all, a nice restaurant and a fine dining experience.

It must have been the weekend for service. Great service from really friendly people.

The coffee was excellent. I drink long blacks without sugar so if it's horrible there is nothing to mask it. Go the barista! The juices were fresh and tasted great and the food was good. A great hollandaise sauce on the eggs. Quite happy.
We just bought three discount breakfast vouchers for this place. Am I happy about that or what!

Oct 19, 2009 - We had a nice hour there the other weekend. A little hung over so the quiet atmosphere was nice whilst we read the papers. We really enjoyed the food and the service was fine. Not a stand out but very solid. We'll be back.

This is such a lovely place to dine, especially in the cold of winter. The food is wonderful and the service and atmosphere is perfect.

I've passed by this place so many times, on my way to Cafe Ish, or the Wall Cafe, or Toast. No longer. If the other dishes are as good as my chorizo, bean and shrimp hotpot (called a salad, but it wasn't really), I'll be back. And the cashier-guy smiled and said such a sincere thanks when taking payment, it made my day a little better.

My partner and I stumbled across Strawberry X early one Saturday morning and were enticed in by the warm, inviting atmosphere and decor. We were so pleased that we ventured inside, as the waiter was fantastic and super friendly, and we greatly enjoyed our breakfast and delicious coffees. Will definitely be back.

The staff at strawberry are great, Rex loves a chat and Chef Tracey always comes out to say hi. Lena their barista is the best amazing, she makes agreat coffee always lovely to talk to and not to bad on the eye also. Their food is excellent and I wouldn't go anywhere else in the area. Do yourself a favour and visit Strawberry X if you haven't done so already.
