Having been living in Sydney for only 4months I am missing a lot of my favourite restaurants back in hometown Brissy. I love beautiful food, original menu's and simple presentation. I am excited to say on Saturday night I had the pleasure of finding all of the above as well as a cosy atmosphere and welcoming, fabulous service. Couldn't have enjoyed myself more.

I went to this restaurant when my boyfriend organised a surprise date, and I was very pleased with his choice once we got there! The atmosphere of the courtyard was lovely, perfect for a romantic dinner. The service all night was great - attentive but not intrusive. Although our waitress' propensity to say "Si" instead of yes became a little hilarious due to her Australian accent the rest of the time. The quality of the olive oil we had with our bread in was much appreciated by us both!
The highlight for me was definitely the prawn wonton soup...delicious wontons with a complex light broth. My boyfriend had the delicious lamb shank lasagna - who knew such a small looking portion could be so filling? I had the blue swimmer crab spaghettini with plump gorgeous mussels - the whole meal was a huge success! Perhaps a little expensive with mains almost $30 but overall such an enjoyable experience we didn't really mind.

5 of us went here for a friends b'day and congratulations on a new job. We had an amazing time! The service was lovely and friendly, the food was fresh and innovative and the atmosphere was great.
We sat in the back courtyard which I would recommend if you have a group. Surprisingly, all the girls had the same meal, it was a lasagne done with lamb shanks. OH MY GOSH! It was amazing. When the meal was placed in front of me it looked a little small but was so rich that it was just right. When I made the first cut in the meal the smells were amazing. Let's just say that I would have to be jealous if I wasn't the one eating it. Dessert was shared which was (among a number of items) a beautiful creme brulee with poached pear- heaven.
I would definitely recommend this venue for a lovely romantic meal, but also for a group of friends who want to eat quality, thought out food. Good value (esp the BYO on wine).

My partner and I often visit the place for a weekend breakfast. We eat out for breakfast on a regular basis and have found no other restaurant better for breakfast than this place. We love the way the breakfast menu is designed, giving you the option to add extras as you please. The Hollandaise is the best in town. Great value for money.
There is only one thing that could improve, sometimes the service can be very slow.

Having read the review we went there for breakfast. The coffee was really below standard , the toasted muesli looked like it came from coles ( $9.50) and the very small container of fruit $3.50 (mostly small cubes of watermelon appeared to have cut up the night before).
We eat out a lot for breakfast and this was the most disappointing experience that we have ever had. Also I had to go to the counter twice to follow up extras that we had requested. I would always give accolades when they are dew but on this occasion I should have stayed at home and saved my 30 dollars.

Is this as good as it gets.... The duck sublime and the tea infused salmon is light, subtle, divine. Leave room for dessert as they are better than the mains. The service is close to perfect - attentive but not invasive. They know the menu and they sell it well. The only downside is it is so good it can get crowded!!

Had high expectations after reading the reviews and walking past every morning for a week, but unfortunately was a bit disappointed with breakfast there in early December. May have been a bad day, because there was a large (noisy) group there as well, but the service was a bit sluggish and the food was only average. I had the scrambled egg (on the small side) with bacon - okay, but have certainly had better - and my partner had the fruit salad which she tells me was below average (and she's had a few).
The price for a cooked breakfast really starts to add up with the extras, and from my experience there are better options in the area. Perhaps the less routine menu options would set them apart from other breakfast cafes, but I don't think I'll be back to find out. Will still be keen to try lunch or dinner though.

In early December 2006, we had a work function in the courtyard. The food, the service, the friendly helpful staff and the ambiance of the place was all exceptional. The wrapped coconut fish in particular was superb. Highly recommended!
