We started off with the Mixed Entree, salt and pepper squid... yum, had the Eye fillet of beef myself. Best steak melts in your mouth, friend had the rump steak, he reckons it was good but spend the extra I would to get the eye fillet. I had the sticky date pudding, that I'd go back for any day of the week. Friend had the white chocolate cream brulee. Ohh was the word of the moment.

My steak was great, but, I recommend moving your steak off of the Stonegrill if you like it rare as it cooks pretty quickly. Do this especially if you have the T bone as my friends steak was well done before she was halfway through. I would eat here again as the meat quality was great, however, i would have dessert somewhere else as two of the three we ordered were sent back and the third wasn't particularly good either. Staff were good in that they removed the problem desserts from the bill.

For me, Stonegrill Penrith is like no other, so much so that we have taken to eating there at least once every two weeks. The staff there make you feel like you are part of the family and they can't do enough for you and in all the times I have eaten there I have never been able to fault the food. Stonegrill is definitely a unique sort of dining experience and one which I would recommend to anybody who likes a good dinner!

My partner and I dined at Stonegrill and had an amazing experience. On the table near us sat an elderly couple. The lady told the manager it was her husbands 84th birthday. Within minutes helium balloons appeared on their table. Then about 10 girls appeared and started to sing happy birthday it did not take long before all the customers joined in.
The couple were so overwhelmed a tear was shed. Apparently a choral group were dining in the private room and for the night they became the resident Stonegrill choir. Great food, service and atmosphere.

My wife and I ate here on a Sunday. For starters we had garlic bread which was pretty good and salt and pepper squid, the squid was coated in powdered pepper so much so that it burnt our mouths.
For mains we both had the stone grill rump steak, I had it with chips that weren't bad, my wife had the veggies that looked steamed frozen veg. During the main meal I had to kill a big cockroach that ran across the restaurant floor.
For dessert we had the mud cake and cheesecake that both weren't too bad until we found a hair in it.
Overall, if it wasn't for the layer of pepper on the squid, the cockroach and hair, it would have been an ok pub meal if it was half the price.

I have been here a number of times and I cannot compliment the service enough, they are very friendly and very attentive.
The food is very good, I had the mixed grill, which includes steak, chicken, pork and lamb. It is quite a good experience, the only downside is it is quite pricey for what you get.
The decor is out-dated and definitely needs a make over, but overall good food and service does it for me.

On Friday night my partner and I went out to Stonegrill for dinner We called at around 5 pm and asked to make a reservation for that night, which was fine. They were polite on the phone and got us in for 7:30. At seven thirty we were seated and the drinks order was taken within minutes.
The staff were punctual, polite and ready to offer any assistance you might need. Both this time and the last time we went there the senior staff came around to every table asking if we had been taken care of, if our drinks were topped up, and if there was any way he could help. The last time we were there I felt he came around once or twice too many times and was on the verge of being annoying, but this time he only came around once and it was just right.
The food was served quickly and hot. I got the $34 special which included an entrée main and dessert. The entrée I chose was bruschetta which was good, but didn’t have enough balsamic for my liking. However, my partner thought it was just right. The main was the rump which was a good size and looked fresh, and not fatty. Their pepper sauce is die for too!
The dessert is their famous sticky date pudding which I remembered from last time as ‘the best dessert I’ve ever had’ but this time wasn’t as nice, but it could have been the high expectations I put on it!
Overall I love this restaurant, I’ll always go there if I have a choice and the novelty of cooking my own food hasn’t worn off yet! The only cons are that the meat tends to stick to the grillplate and with delicate seafood this can be annoying.

I had read the reviews and thought I would give this place a try. I am glad I did we went on a Wednesday night so we wouldn't be rushed as it was a birthday. On entering we were greeted by I presume the owner and asked we we would like to sit the service was quick and efficient without people hovering over you. I tried the mixed grill to sample a bit of everything the meat was tender and just the right size serving. You can get a bigger steak at several pubs around Penrith but to sit and relax this place is highly recommended.

Went to stonegrill with my boyfriend, who is a local and had been dying to take me. Had mixed feelings. I didn't realise you had to cook your own steak, which I'm not really a fan of (if you can do it at home, why go out?). The decor is a but outdated, and you can tell it used to be an office space. Lovely outdoor area.
The waitress we had was amazing. She recommended a great wine, made sure we were looked after, had personality. We ended up leaving her a big tip.
As for the food - aside from the steak - it really wasn't that great. It the veg's on the side looked like they were out of a frozen veg packet, and it is served with only half a baked potato. Diane sauce not great either. I had sticky date pudding which was absolutely fantastic. The bf did not enjoy his chocolate cake.
All in all, I would not return. I don't want to cook my own steak and it was too hot cooking it on the stone in front you.

Had a pleasant meal at Stonegrill a few weeks ago.
Food was good but not Great, (entrees were average), the concept of the stone was good and made the night. I thought the sides with steak could be more. (one potato and tiny garnish style salad). From what I had heard and read I expected the restaurant to be a little more fancy and fine dining, but found it to be a little dated inside, carpets, table and chairs were more like a pub style.
Service was good and with the Banquet menu the Value was great. Otherwise, I would have found it to be too expensive. I may be back, but there is alot of good steaks around that I will probably eat first.
