The worst food I have ever eaten out in my life. I've never reviewed anything before, but felt the need to warn anyone considering spending their hard earned money here.

The service is lovely but the food is straight from a frozen packet. The salt and pepper squid was wet and soggy. The beef medallions were rancid and the corn cakes were, everything short of ok. The worst $90 I've ever spent.

Went to Stonefish for lunch to try something different from the usual Cronulla fare. Being a place that specialised in steaks cooked on stone, my partner ordered the hamburger with fries.

The meal was extremely, extremely disappointing. I had to ask the waitress if the meat paddy was purchased from the supermarket, frozen. It was the same over processed, rubbery, home brand style supermarket paddy that you get a bad budget BBQ.

The waitress assured me that it was made in house, I seriously doubt this!. If this is the case I seriously question the remainder of the menu and the competency of the "chef".

To top it off, it was served in a very cheap white burger bun, with some lettuce and tomato. If you walk past, keep on walking!

As locals, we have been to Stonefish before only to be disappointed. We decided to give it another go. We ordered the small breakfast emphasing 'crispy bacon' as my husband and I can't stand raw bacon. To our suprise we received our meal with the bacon rolled with only the outside slightly cooked. We asked for it to be cooked further only to received it back again in much the same way. The chef needs to go back to chef school and learn how to make 'crispy bacon'. Very disappointed and will not return.

I've been here a number of times in the last year and have quite enjoyed it. Food is pretty average, but the steak on the hot rock is the sort of thing that I could eat every night for dinner. Went again this week and now I do have a problem, the cost of the garlic bread! We had 4 servings of garlic bread at $9.50 per serve. Each serve is 4 small slices of bread and so $38 of garlic bread!

I don't mind paying $34 for a steak that I have to cook myself on the hot rock, but I really really object to paying $9.50 for a small serve of garlic bread. Will think twice before going again and kids will Not be eating garlic bread! Should add that our waitress was absolutely delightful.

Went for Saturday night dinner. Tapas was fantastic, reasonable serving sizes. Garlic bread incredibly overpriced at almost $10 for 6 pieces of bread smaller than the palm of my hand. Dessert was very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Would go again.

As per previous reviews food isn't great. Only saving grace was the pleasant waitress looking after our table.

The 5 of us decided to go here for a sunday breakfast. All starving and thought that this place would surely be good value for money. We were wrong. We ordered 3 poached eggs, one small brekky and one big brekky from the breakfast menu.
The 3 poached eggs dished came out with almost hard boiled eggs, not poached and runny, with nearly no egg white attached to the yolk. The piece of toast was smaller than the palm of my hand and about half a centimeter thick. The whole meal was a very small serving and the side of smoked salmon I ordered with it was definitely not worth $3.50.

The small brekky was bigger than the more expensive poached eggs dish from the menu. My friend asked for the eggs to be flipped and cooked on both sides but they weren't. The big brekky was ordered with scrambled eggs, but somehow it came out with 2 eggs sunny side up and a extra side bowl of scrambled eggs on the side?!

The coffee had a nice flavour but we ordered two flat whites both with sides of honey, but only a small side dish of honey came with it that amounted to less than a teaspoon of honey in it. I had to get up and walk to the front counter to order more honey after waiting quite a while for a waiter to even just look in our direction.

We asked nicely if we could possibly get the eggs re-done without being a pain in the bum, as none of us preferred well cooked eggs and we all really felt like poached eggs as the fish stated on the menu, but the female wait staff didn't seem to think it was appropriate to be apologetic in any way and just said "oh ok do ya's want more eggs then?!" with attitude all over her face.

More eggs came back but they were only marginally better than the original ones served. What we all found interesting was that when she went back to the kitchen, we all heard laugher and the words "oh get a life" come from the kitchen staffs in the open plan kitchen.

After all of these matters combined we thought it was necessary to ask to speak with the senior staff, which ended up being one of the kitchen staffs. He approached our table and as he was about 2 meters away from us he asked a waiter next to him "are these the guys here" and then said yeah what's up to us.

When we said we ordered poached eggs and sent them back cos they were too well done and then heard get a life from the kitchen he said "oh well the eggs are poached and na that wasn't directed at you guys that was the senior staff laughing about something else with another staff member". We just said ok then and he said so do you want more eggs or something?! We quickly finished up and left.

I would strongly recommend anyone to avoid this place. Waste of money and the level of customer service was horrible. They dealt with all of our tables problems in such a wrong way and this place will definitely never be visited by us again. Hopefully this review will prevent many from making the same mistake we did.

We went to Stonefish once before and it was pretty bad. We thought we would give it another try as we might have caught it on an off night but what a mistake that was!

With four tables full and about 20 vacant, you would think they would have plenty of time to get the food right.

Starting off with an antipasto plate at $22, you would think it would have more than a few bits of small toast, half a sliced chorizo, a little bit of flavourless baby octopus and about a tablespoon of "pesto trio of vegetables".

This was followed by the worst 4 deep fried battered prawn wontons covered in a mountain of garnish - corriander and bean sprouts, you could possibly imagine. They were doughy and horrible and definitely not worth $16.

Next was the corn fritters which were not too bad but something you could buy at a supermarket and re-heat in the oven at home. Again, these were accompanied with a mountain of garnish.

The final nail in the coffin for us was the almost inedible salt and pepper squid, too doughy, not enough flavour, overcooked and extremely chewy.

Do yourself a favour, don't go there to eat anyway. The bottled beer is quite good.

There was a few of us on the table and not 1 of us liked the food. Garlic bread had no garlic on it, the stuff you put on the bruschetta looked like it came out of a juice mixer, squid was swimming in mayonnaise, we asked for large wedges they brought out 6 pieces burnt on a nice white plate, 6 pieces? Gordon Ramsey wasn't the chef. Shame on you Stonefish. Shame on you.
