About the Steyne hotel. Manly locals we're really delighted when the Steyne hotel became more family friendly.

The food was good. So much so that I had started recommending it to disbelieving Manlyites. But what was one very nice bangers and mash now is very mediocre. Watery potatoes and blah sausages. The nachos plate is like a slop bucket. Pity. For a time our extended family would enjoy a meal there Now every one looks dubious when "the Steyne" is mentioned.

Great place for a beer bet and feed spent 10 days in Manly and visited the pub quite a few times. What a great view, nice people and when all renos complete will be even better, kid and wife enjoyed it to. Wally Mac from Sth Australia see you in April will be back with the boys.

We've been for lunch here before and enjoyed it and the food. We know its only pub food and don't expect anything fancy, however, on our last visit we ordered the barramundi and it literally tasted like dirt! Three of us tried it and it was disgusting. Took it back to the kitchen staff who didn't apologise, offer a refund or anything as a replacement meal. He just walked away with the meal then we saw him taste it and throw it in the bin. Poor service, poor food, only good thing is the view. Won't ever go back here again.

The good old Steyne, gotta love it. Upstairs is a great place to relax and unwind with great views of the beach. Can get really busy late night on weekends but has a lot of charm. The Steyne has lots of entertainment which is good, djs, bands etc. Price of drinks are ok too. Definitely recommend it for a good fun night out.

As pubs go the food at this place is surprisingly good. I went last Saturday night with Lil Neecy, Jaaard & Una to celebrate a friend’s 50th. We had T-bone steak dishes and grilled Barramundi and couldn't fault the quality, preparation and quantity for the price asked. The salad served with each meal was fresh and bountiful instead of the standard garnish style salads accompanying meals usually served up at pubs.

The highlight was the bloke who setup a sausage sizzle mid-evening in the rear courtyard serving a huge roll with the works for $5. Perhaps we would return, however only if they eliminate the harbour toll, put a tunnel under the Spit and cleared the yobs from the Corso.

Came here on my 18th just for a small lunch with mates. Great pizza, great service, and 6 dollar pints of guinness... a perfect lunch. The food was a little pricey for pub food, but was of great quality. Service are great.

Was pleasantly surprised to discover the newly refurbished View Bar upstairs at The Steyne on the weekend. It has a great balcony with umbrellas where you can sit overlooking the beach enjoying a cold beer. Will be going back for a meal here soon too as the food looked pretty good!

This is a great place to come after a day on the beach. The bar service can be slow at times, but the meals are nice with quite good prices, although the vegetables are sometimes a little cold when served with a hot meat. The view over the ocean is certainly nice to look at while quenching your thirst.

Every occasion I have been here, the bar staff in the downstairs area were rude and couldn't pour a beer to save themselves. I would never go to the bar downstairs if it were the last place I could get a beer. The upstairs lounge is the only redeeming feature, ambience here is much better and the staff are friendlier too!

If you are a local and a rugby player, this pub is the pinnacle. Good price, service and atmosphere. A diverse range of people enjoy the Steyne on any given night and you can find a bar within to suit your style. The food from the upstairs kitchen (which you can order from the bar staff downstairs and have it brought down to you) is suprisingly good and value for money. Highly recommended.
