I recently had a 21st here at the function center in May and I wasn't very impressed with the whole night. It wasn't set up at the beginning and there wasn't enough chairs. The food wasn't very good and some of the glasses had old lipstick stains on them. The girl organising the 21st was rude and thought she was too important to actually listen to what we wanted. I don't normally complain but I didn't want anyone else to have a bad night here.

Upstairs is fantastic with great views looking over the beach, a really nice place to have a cool drink and relax. We spent a few afternoons up there, and it is definitely a little hidden spot. Prices were good too, not expensive as most other places in Manly. Downstairs has more of a typical pub feel if you like that kind of thing, and can get quite busy late at night.

I'm surprised by the reviews. We went upstairs where the view of the beach was incredible and we enjoyed a fantastic steak (loved the sweet onions) with chips and fresh salad (maybe the fresh ocean air distracted us from the smell of a pub). I would highly recommend this bar (upstairs) to anyone that likes a really good steak and a good view of the beach for a fantastic price. I assure you that it was much better than some of the fine dining restaurants we have frequented of late.

I went here a few weeks ago on the night of my birthday. I had dinner and drinks first at the Manly Wharf hotel for most of the night then headed here later. Here it was full of teenyboppers but drinks were cheap and the atmsophere got better towards the end of the night. I reccomend to come here towards the later end of your night out around 12-1 and I didn't eat any of the food so I can't comment.
