Stephano's is a lovely place with reasonably priced food and supersized dishes, pity bout the thugs.
I've been a few times. The last visit was on a Sunday afternoon for a family lunch. Unfortunately, we were seated next to three teamster looking creeps that swore through their entire lunch and were served before everyone else. I was there with a few older family members and I was just embarrassed.
Could these people actually own it or are they just the regular mob crew that make restos pay? Creepy! Underbelly much?
This restaurant is fabulous value for money. You'll get amazing dishes for next to nothing and you'll never leave there thinking that you need to get more to eat on the way home. The main alone leaves no room for dessert.
Had dinner here with 7 other people within the last week. We were seated in the alfresco dining section, which is nice, the only thing that I can complain about is the hoons that cruise up and down Church street, losers. Anyway I, and the other people I was dining with were well impressed with Stephano's.
The service was fast and friendly and the meals are absolutely huge! My partner and I shared the bruschetta for starters then for main I had the chicken and mushroom risotto. It came out on a plate piled high, it would have been enough for four people, needless to say I didn't quite finish it. My partner had veal scallopine, can't remember which one exactly, but he really liked it, again the serving was huge. I definitely recommend this place and I think we will be going back very soon!
Had a quite lunch here, bruschetta pizza was delicious, chargrilled calamari salad was huge, pizza was a let down, only 2 pizza's on menu that didn't contain pork, might be back only if they can add to the pizza range anything else besides pork.
Been here many times, mainly on a Sunday evening. Food's clean and tasty, and their presentation is appealing. The atmosphere isn't electric, but the crowd is relaxed and comfortable. It'd be best to go there with a group of people. They are generous with their serving sizes, but they don't compromise on the quality of the food.
One waiter was a little pushy, but he's the exception around there. Staff are otherwise friendly, courteous, and casual. And if you haven't already figured it out, it's great value!
Decided to come here for good feed with a few friends on a wednesday night. Decided not to go the Criniti's and the other busy/expensive italian places along Church st. Service was quite good as one of the waiteress was quite attentive to our needs etc.
Our pizza took quite a while to come out considering there were only 2-3 other people on other tables that didn't order pizza. We order a chicken special, which had some decent flavour but was slightly overdone and had very little topping even for a woodfired pizza. Friend ordered bruschetta and lasagna which was also quite average as well. Won't be coming here again for a while.
Went here and ordered pizza and ribs. Ribs were awesome!! Absolutely massive and really delicious - 2 thumbs up. Seriously, could share between 2 and be full. We ended up taking pizza home. I found pizza to be a bit bland, tasted better for dinner the next night!!
Anyway, service was quite good, one waiter was a standout, very attentive. The other 2 were so so. In terms of value, I think it's better priced than other places on Church St- and bigger portions though the pizza probably wasn't worth the money I paid for it.
Liked the restaurant. As previosu posters have mentioned.. the servings are huge! I didn't think my Greek platter for 2 lacked flavour at all. I thought it was great.
Pizza is tops here as well but I think they need to speed up the time though, service is as said before slow.
Dined here last night and good restaurant with big servings but as others have indicated it lacks flavour. Service was nice and friendly but the chef could do with a few lessons in flavour. Otherwise everything else was good.
