Been to Steki a number of times either for dinner with a small group or a large one. The food is undeniably good, the service is very good. The special treat is the live music on Friday & Saturday nights. Really adds to the atmosphere. True, the interiors are dated & menu isn't massively extensive, but in terms of what you pay for a restaurant meal with an option of BYO it's great value.

Overall we had a great night. Great service and atmosphere for first time non-Greeks. Food was good, not great. Staff was very friendly. On the downside all of us felt like the portions were a bit stingy. We had a banquet but all the food came out so quick that we were all not feeling satisfied as it was too rushed. We believe that they were trying to get us to leave early to clear the table. I would advise to come after 8.30 pm as that is when all the atmosphere and action happens. Anytime earlier may not be as relaxing and enjoyable.

The food at Steki's is un-deniable... Some of the best food ever! Their only let down is the interior is a little dated, but the live greek band make for a nicer ambience! Staff have good knowledge of the menu and wines, although sometimes run out of certain stuff. Steki's is a must try for an affordable party in your mouth AKA Mouthgasm!

Good greek food and service we have a good time as customers actually were singing and dancing instead of talking, maybe cause nearly all of them were Greeks, will return back soon.

The days of the great Steki I feel are behind it I'm afraid, there are better Greek venues in Sydney that are far more easier to access and offer better value for money.

We enjoyed our night at Steki taverna recently, the food was exceptional, (really delicious Greek food) music fabulous and surroundings comfortable. We are looking forward to going again! Definitely recommend Steki.

One of the poorest restaurants I have been to in a long time. The food was terrible being mostly vegetarian dishes with one lamb dish tacked on at the end after 3.5 hours of waiting for a proper feed. Service is too slow, no one has the time to sit for three hours.

Food, fabulous! Setting, fabulous! Service, fabulous! A great place to have a get together. Only problem: my food allergy was noted but the meal still came out with the 'banquet' and it was up to us to tell by looking that there was cheese in the dish.

I dined at Steki's about eight years ago and the nostalgia of the great meal I had then bought me back for a second time recently. I must admit though, the experience was a little lacklustre. The furnishings were the same (although eight years older of course) and the food didn't have quite the same va va voom I had expected.
The calamari entree was crispy and crunchy but I wish they wouldn't serve it on a bed of mushy white rice which sticks to the calamari batter like velcro. In fact they seem to serve white rice under everything. Lamb Souvlaki on a bed of white rice. Check. Keftedes on a bed of white rice. Check. I dug under the greek salad just to make sure there weren't any sneaky white grains lurking.
Back to the keftedes (meatballs), I think they were burnt, I mean they tasted burnt but it was hard to tell because they were drowning in tomato sauce. On the plus side the lamb souvlaki was tender and the greek salad was good. The waitress was super friendly, and the owner came and asked if everything was good which I thought was a nice touch. Maybe I will go back in another eight years.

Went there on suggestion of someone who loves good food and after a moment of disorientation in front of the very simple ambience I had a wonderful experience.
The place is very plain: white walls, wood tables, simple chairs and a smell of old place. My boyfriend was a bit shocked by such an atmosphere and I started worrying that the place could be just disappointing.
The food is delicious. I had octopus, best I have ever had, in a beautiful dressing of oil, vinegar and lemon. The calamari were light and crispy, loved the fact that they weren't dripping oil. My boyfriend had souvlaki as a main, I went for the keftedes. The lamb was tender, beautiful meat perfectly cooked, a big serving with salad and rice and pita bread on side. My meatballs were beautiful, tasty and juicy. The chef doesn't save on garlic, so, good to know that after being here your breath won't smell of roses.
We finished dinner with greek coffee and a complimentary baklava, delicious!
Service is a bit slow, but the staff is polite and they make sure that you are having a pleasant experience. We were looking for a place where to have some good greek food and we finally found it.
Definitely recommended! I suggest to book because it looks like it gets really busy, next to us there was a big table of 10-15 people and by the end of our dinner, around 9, the place was full!
