Had dinner at Gigis for the first time in ages. Seems like they've changed ownership or something. Pizza was pretty good but took a while to come out and we were waiting for our order to be taken for almost half an hour. The place is still lovely outside on the pavement and the food is good but it took far too long and was way too expensive.

Pizza's were absolutely awesome, none better in Sydney. Waiting staff were kind, comforting and friendly and had the best night I have had in a while.

Best avoided. A group of four of us dropped into to Stars at Gigis on a whim Sunday 2nd October for some straight up pizza action. Since when was it acceptable to keep people waiting well over an hour for pizza? The thing that grated more than the long wait was the bald face lie the waitress told us when she said our pizzas were going in to the oven, twice! I have no issue with a restaurant being busy, just tell the truth so we can decide we want to wait it out or not. A pathetic way to treat customers which displays a total lack of respect.

As for the pizza, when it came it was undercooked and doughy, certainly not worth the wait. Very ordinary. The drink of complimentary lemon cello to make up for the lengthy wait went no where near recovering for an all round disaster of a meal. One of the worst eating experiences I've had in Sydney. Really need to do better to get anyone to contemplate returning for more.

Saturday evening we had a lovely meal out on the pavement in Balmain. I had always thought this was just a pizza place. Fantastic meal - veal with mushrooms, at a good price and a very reasonable portion also. Will be returning.

We (Group of seven) had dinner at Gigis last Saturday night. We were served after 20 minutes and then one hour after the order was placed finally our meals were served. All the meals were nice, but very small in size, if you don't mind the wait and not very hungry then try it.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for 15 years. The food was fantastic and there was so much of a variety when it was the older owners were there. Now the new owners have stepped it up to cater exclusive dining and now there is not much of a variety! What happened to Stars at gigi's? We miss the old menu, there was no other place that was like this! Bring back the older menu please.

What a terrible experience. I can only assume that this restaurant has changed hands recently as we had eaten here many times previously and always had great service and good food. This was like Faulty Towers in Balmain. Inexperienced waiters, waiting ages for a menu and then the food, asking to be served and then getting 4 meals which were all over-salted. What a pity.

The presentation of the food was the first thing that impressed then we tasted and were blown away. The specials board is really worth perusing and found things that would not look out of place in a more expensive restaurant. Will definitely come back, a great night.

I'm not a local, so to make the trek to Stars at Gigis will need to offer me some WOW factor, it does this and more, it offers a very relaxed atmosphe, great attentive service. The food is amazing (thinking they have a new chef) keep up the good work! the chalk board specials are just, if not more delicious. Thanks Stars at Gigis for many wonderful nites and your gorgeous smiles.

Casual warm friendly dining experience. Pizza's were delicious, full of flavour. Chilli, tomato, basil mussels for entree were small but extremely tasty. Pasta was a nice hearty dish that rivals some the of the best italian places around.
