My husband and I visited St Patricks Tavern for a meal and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The service staff were flat out as they were fully booked but they still managed to provide wonderful service and nothing was a problem. The food was superb, I recommend the chicken with Malibu sauce and the crepes. We both agreed it was the best meal and dining experience we have ever had. Congratulation to the chefs for the food and a big pat on the back to the staff.
I've been to St Patrick's Tavern twice. The first time I went was because my wife won a raffle at my son's pre-school. I was hesitant in redeeming the generous gift voucher prize considering that we are talking about a pub almost under a flyover next to a train station.
Anyway, I did walk in with my wife and two kids. It is a different world inside. Walking in you see a spacious, quite "upmarket" looking restaurant. The big surprise was the live music. There was a man singing whilst playing a grand piano, in Seven Hills!
After a start like that it is difficult to pick faults with the place. The staff are excellent. They are very accommodating and friendly (my children are 3 and 5 years of age). My main meal was a little disappointing (crispy skin duck). The second time I tried the Chicken with Malibu Sauce, which was absolutely divine (Ladies and gents the others at the table ate more of my meal than I did).
The only reason I took off a couple of points for value is that if you go for a 3 course meal with a family the bill can really add up (but then again doesn't it always). All in all the place is fantastic. I will keep going there. As someone mentioned in a previous review, it is a real hidden gem.
Honestly, the best restaurant I have ever step foot in. The meals are quite cheap for the quality. I would expect this kind of food in a 5 star, city restaurant. Instead I have found it here in a Seven Hills Pub. Every two weeks or so I come back here for the usual, Chicken and Prawns, and they never let me down, it is cooked perfectly every time, the meals are well presented and taste as good if not better than the presentation.
The desserts are light, and taste like heaven. All in all try the chicken and prawns and the crepe for dessert, and you will find also that this is one of the best restaurants in Sydney, if not the best.
I organised a small work xmas lunch for my team here. The staff could not have been more helpful. As I was on a tight budget for 13 people I was able to pre arrange a menu. This request was very well received and they were kind enough to work out a dessert for me under cost. On the day the service was good and the food was fantastic. This place really is a gem and I recommend it to anyone.
I think every time I go there I have the greek style lamb but I can't help myself as I get cravings for it. I just can't go past it am going there tonight and telling myself to try something different but the food is just always beautiful. You could be forgiven for thinking you were in a top class restaurant in the city the quality is just right up there with it!!
Food and service is impeccable. Was running late to dinner on one occasion and my family ordered for me. My food was still hot after it had been sitting on the table waiting for me for about 10 minutes and even 10 minutes into eating it, the food was still hot. The Chicken and Prawns is to die for! I do agree that people think "Oh its in a seedy pub" but its nothing like that anymore...the pub is actually quite tame these days so give this place a try!
My husband and I went to this restaurant for a romantic night together without the kids. I was hoping for a dimly lit, private setting, and this is what we got with this restaurant. I took my chances with this one after reading a review from someone rating it as Seven Hills Hidden Gem, and I would agree.
My husband had the lamb which was so soft, it fell off the bone and I had the chicken and prawns which were just divine. The food is so well presented, comes out hot and on time, delivered to our table by competent and attentive waiters. It's nice to see entertainment in a restaurant, the piano player really added a nice touch of "old school romance".
As I looked around me at others selections, in total disbelief that anyone could order anything better than what we had on our table, the fisherman's baskets were plentiful.. which makes me think they have to be the best darn fish and chips in Sydney if the other meals are anything to go by.
Dessert was simple and elegant, I had the gelato and hubby the sticky date pudding. All in all, best food I've had in a very long time... Well done St Pat's Tav, you really are the Hidden Gem of Seven Hills.
Went there for our work X'mas party in Dec. Other people had the same idea. Place was busy but service was quick and efficient. Our group had different meals, no complaints were heard which is unusual. Highly recomended.
Nice steakhouse which just doesn't belong in a pub. Nice meals, however, great place for a steak and found the oysters to be very fresh and nice. Worth a try.
