Overview
Spice me up! Thai Sensation is located in St.Leonards, opposite the train station. Spice me up! provides a dining experience that encapsulates Modern Thai lifestyle, offering spicy and traditional Thai flavour with highly efficient waiting.
Spice me up! provides dine in, take away and home delivery (locally) with flavourful and sensational food along with welcoming and friendly service.
Interior design by Constantine Elfes with delicate lighting and a sensational backdrop creates a welcoming dining room of warmth and elegance. A restaurant that is sophisticated yet maintains a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Spice me up! is the ultimate Thai Sensation dining experience.
Probably one of the best value restaurants I've been lately, one of the few I've been having 3 course dinner (no alcohol) for two under $50. Nice cosy ambient, service is impeccable. Can be very busy during lunch time with the office crew coming for a quick eat, but at night it becomes cosy.
I had the Spice me Up chicken (which happens to be not hot/spicy) and my wife had the Kafir lime prawn. Both very good in flavour and size and nice presentation.
The restaurant also does take away which may be a bit annoying if you're into an intimate night for two.
Have heard a lot about Spice Me Up and thought we will head there with our kids for a family dinner. Thought I would go there a few times before writing a review, cause sometimes you just don't want to judge a Restaurant on its 1st time basis.
The food was very delicious and as you can imagine having kids means taking 'spicy' stuff out of their dinner. All our requests were made to keep food mild and kids loved their Crispy Prawn Noodles! We also felt very relaxed as the waiters were very friendly and would come and play with our kids whilst we enjoyed some delicious Thai food that we love to eat! This has become our favourite place to dine at.
The Restaurant was also very clean and the cutlery, glasses etc had no water marks, which to me means they take very good care of the cleanliness of the restaurant! I would highly recommend Spice Me Up! as its Friendly, Clean, Value for money. $20 for a 3 course meal in these tough financial times is an excellent price! We loved our Curry Puffs, Satay and anything with a touch of spice, for us Adults of course! We will sure be back for another meal!
I headed to Spice Me Up with a few workmates who had great feedback on the food here. I disagree, maybe it was a bad one off experience? I had a 'hot' noodle dish which had no heat whatsoever and was filled with cheap unappetising vegetables. The thick rice noodles were overcooked and stuck to the plate in one big pile (like it had been nuked in the microwave).
The male waiter was friendly and gave great service (he seems to be the manager/owner) yet the waitress who served us our food was chewing gum with her mouth wide open, didn't talk or even make eye contact when serving. Whilst this was a less than average lunch I will give it another go, for dinner, based on feedback of friends.
We had an absolute ball with a big group of friends and family. I have not tasted such traditional Thai food like this for a very long time. The services was exceptional and value meals to match! The challenge is on to anyone that can take on and conquer the sensational and overwhelming trade mark dish of this unique Thai restaurant.
The "Jungle Curry". If you have not yet experienced this fine restaurant, make it a priority on your list of things to do. Can't wait to go back.
Great Thai food. Have ordered the Pad thai a number of times and will continue to go back. Best Thai I have had on the North side. Reasonably priced too.
