After reading the reviews for this place I was in two minds about booking it for a birthday party but decided to give it a go. When we sat down at the table it took a few minutes for our drinks to arrive then half an hour for them to even give us a menu let alone take our order. When the food finally came it came out in drips and draps and was generally good food. I agree with a lot of the other reviews, the ambience was fantastic, really good Flamenco show but the whole experience was let down by the service.
I recently went to my friend's birthday dinner there. It was fun, but we have problems right from the start. She spoke to the restaurant on the day of the party, and they told her the table was in one long straight line. However, when we got there we saw that there were two sets tables next to each other which meant that half of the people had their backs to each other! It was also a pity as we'd only brought two sets of decorations - one to put on the ends of the table. However, because there were now four ends of the tables, it looked a bit sparse.
Also, on the website it says that they serve Corona, Heineken and Crown. When she rang the restaurant to book, they told her that these particular beers were definitely included in the drinks package we had selected. We had them on speakerphone at the time and were really pleased, as most of our male friends drink these beers. However, on the night they told us that they hadn't served these beers for quite a while and that it was "impossible" that we had been told these beers were included in the drinks package. Umm, okay...
When she booked, the booking form said it was $60 per person for a set meal and drinks package, but then they rang her the next day to say that it was actually $65 per head. They tried to tell her that the booking form was wrong and outdated - but we found this strange as we printed the booking form straight off their website and signed it with her credit card details. Surely if they haven't updated the form that is their fault??
The next problem was that there were two other birthdays that night, and they were seated next to her birthday party, which meant it was really loud. What really surprised us though, was when they brought the other cakes out, we saw that they had used her sparkler candles on the other two cakes, leaving only one sparkler on hers! We wouldn't have minded so much, except that they didn't even ask, and used ten sparkler candles on each of the other cakes and left her with one. It was just bizarre!
Lastly, there really wasn't enough food and the quality of it wasn't great. Everything was deep fried or covered in oil, and there was no real zing to any of the food - something you expect with Spanish food! After an hour of waiting for food (the menu was pre-set so I'm not sure why it took so long), they brought out a measly green salad to begin with, then ten minutes brought out garlic bread. We were served tapas about an hour after that (not much food in the tapas at all!), then about an hour after that we were given lumpy and sticky paella. Hmmm, not quite what we were hoping for. The flamenco show was fun, but overall it was quite a disappointing night.

Lovely Paella and awesome Flmenco dancing on Fridya and Saturday nights, ideal for celebrating groups or couples or friends or families anyone really!!
A restaurant full of Spanish ambience serving delicious Spanish food. A few of us shared a range of tapas. The highlights were the croquettes, the grilled capsicums, garlic mushrooms and the Spanish salad. For dessert they had the churros; something I have not seen at other Spanish restaurants; little finger like pastries which you dipped in chocolate. Well worth trying. A very nice restaurant; better than many of its Spanish cousins in the Spanish Quarter.
Went here for my 21st Party - they catered for 45ppl extremely well, and even managed to follow a rather complicated serving guide without a hitch! A pleasure to deal with both on the day and in the preparation stages, the staff really went above and beyond to ensure my party came off brilliantly.
The food was tasty and delicious, and all my guests commented on how much they had enjoyed it. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion and the value for the enormous amount of food we received was unparalleled. Cannot wait to visit this place again soon and have some more of the fantastic sangria - a real winner!
Really enjoyed our night here. Had a group of 20ppl and took the $55 per head banquet. Great Brazilian beer and really good sangria was brought out immediately. There was plenty of food and think we even had some dishes unfinished. Staff were quick and friendly, and always brought more drinks as soon as we asked for them.
I was there last saturday. I had to go upstairs and I was quite upset in the beginning but the waitress was so lovely and she made me feel so comfortable I didn't wanna go away. I had tortilla, crumbed mushroom and garlic prawns as she suggested me and she was damn rite! I had an amazing dinner, great time with my friends and we also had the chance to gossipy about the spanish beauty. Probably going back in the next weekend.
We (meaning 12 friends) are regulars. Each experience is always different, however, the staff are always so lovely and willing to help. I think the package of $65 per person is amazing!! Where else in Sydney can you eat till you have to undo your pants button, drink as much alcohol and soft drink and eat and chat with your best friends? never have we been able to completely finish all the tapas or the paella. Yes some of the tapas have more oil than necessary, however, traditional Spanish food has always been made with oil!! We will continue to come here for great food, service and friends.
I have been going to the restaurant for years. Ever since they open back in 96. Always an experience, a superb one!! The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is fantastic and well, the atmosphere is just wonderful. The flamenco show is great as well. The value for money is really good. This is the best spanish restaurant in Sydney without a doubt. If you go you will not be disappointed!! Spanish Tapas thank you for all this wonderfull years.
