Great location, located by the water, what else could you ask for and the bonus was the fireworks at 8.30 pm Saturday.

After walking around Darling Harbour trying to work out where to dine my friends and I decided on the South Steyne.

We ordered garlic bread. I thought it was from the supermarket. Certainly uninspiring. Everyone seem to enjoy the mains, including the 400 g rib eye scotch fillet steak, lobster mornay and the chicken supreme. I had the oven baked barramundi, pleasant but not outstanding.

We finished with dessert which seemed to pleased everyone, I had the sticky date pudding, it was nice but I wasn't blown over by it, others in the group had the apple crumble and the chocolate mint chip ice cream was delicious.

A pleasant evening at a great location. Service was efficient and friendly and overall the food was good but not outstanding.

Went to South Steyne for a double 50th family birthday in July. We hired the board room for 20 people and pleasantly surprised there was no hire fee for lunch functions.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere in the boardroom very cosy added advantage of our own private rest room facilities. There is a cd player available with some selections but you can also supply your own music. Also a tv with dvd player for use if needed. Our bar person was very nice, one glass of bubbly was accidentally knocked over by a guest and replaced free of charge. Highly recommend!

Thank for a great night! We had our Staff Social Club Christmas party on the ship in Darling Harbour last weekend and it was fabulous. Lots of fun, plenty of food and an amazing fireworks display. Everyone had the best time. I will always recommend this venue and many thanks to Catey for making the organisation easy and me look good.

I recently attended a work christmas function here and was absolutely blown away. The food (I had the steak) was spectacular and perfectly cooked to order. All other colleagues attending the function were equally impressed. The wine list was huge and perfectly complimented the cuisine. The service was top notch and could not be faulted. The venue is beautifully stunning. All in all I experienced a great night.

Absolutely terrible. We held a customer dinner there and the food was horrible, all of our customers complained saying that the food was awful and that the dinner was unacceptable, and it was very embarrassing for our company. Agree with the previous comment about the steak, this was the same comment many of our customers had. We ordered drinks on consumption and they opened bottles and put them on the table and when customers didn't drink any they charged us for the whole bottle anyway, and then wouldn't let us take the bottles when we were leaving.

This added another $300-$400 onto our total bill. I complained after the event via email and a few weeks later I still didn't have a response or explanation. Very annoyed. Feeling very ripped off.

This place is just awesome and recommend it to anyone who happens to be passing. We were visitors and just happened to be passing and were warmly welcomed aboard. Wait stuff bent over backwards for us at all times and were even offered mementos. The steak was one of the most memorable steaks I have had, complete with a giant prawn, shelled and skewered. A side dish of stir-fried veges were also ordered and were very tasty.

One of the childen preferred to have potato mash instead of puree pumpkin, easily accommodated for. Even when one child asked for tomato sauce to replace the tartare, nothing seemed to be a problem...Excellent! When the children became bored of adult conversation they were able to watch numerous episodes of Mr Bean. An inspection of the ship and it is other staterooms were also allowed, as well as photos.

Staff were more than happy to be a photographer for the evening. All in all, the night was very entertaining and unique. A pleasure to visit.

At a function last weekend dining room staff were doing their job well but the big steak that landed for me needed a chainsaw to be cut. I only could manage three bites as I only had a knife. Everyone left meat on their plate but the lamb was a bit better. What sort of steak is this? Awful!

Loved it except for the fact once our main dishes had been cleared, that was it. No offer of dessert and no offer of more drinks. It took another waitress to notice our table was bare. Then came along another bottle of wine and a gorgeous cheese platter.

Organised our end of conference dinner for 200 delegates here last week and everything was fantastic. The evening ran like clockwork, can highly recommend.
