Great experience for a business lunch. There’s easy parking, the place/setting was beautiful and service was well-paced. Menu choices were good, I had a pot pie and tried the coq au vin, and both were delicious.

Six of us enjoyed a Mother's day lunch here today. The French cooking was excellent and all of us enjoyed entree, main and desserts with authentic French flavours in a charming private dining space. Sound wine list and efficient pleasant service. All in all we were delighted.

We recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at this restaurant. The owner and staff were excellent and attentive. The food and service were of a very high standard. We could not fault anything and it made the evening one to remember. I will definitely go back.

My most recent delightful Sous le Soleil experience was for a family celebration. As always, waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and patient (its hard to be decisive with such a sumptious menu). Service was surprisingly fast, despite the full house. We found the lighting and acoustics very comfortable. Food here never fails to impress: savoring begins with the colours, aroma, then flavours... my most enduring memory of each course is of the delicious sauces, esp the basil veloute with the 'fish of the day' main. One suggestion: seek an eye-contact 'yes' before topping up wine glasses (some have to drive home). Will definitely return...

Today (24/5/11) I had the worst salade nicoise I have ever come across. No cos lettuce, no bacon, no anchovies and a vinegar based dressing. The ingredients were presented in small individual piles. There was an egg, which as far I as I could tell was the one nod to this famous salad. At $26.00 it was also the most expensive by a long way.
Response from Management:
I don't usually respond to comments by would-be food critics, but today I feel compelled... It would appear you have confused the ingredients and the widely accepted style of presentation of the "famous salade nicoise" and the also famous Caesar salad. Both popular, but different in content, presentation and origin. I can understand your disappointment if you had the latter in mind when you ordered. We have found our nicoise salad to be a popular dish amongst our guests and seemingly good value as it contains poached king prawns, admittedly our twist on the seared tuna that we didn't find as popular. Thank you for your feedback, we may well pop a caesar salad on the menu next Summer.
Thanks,
Andrew

We recently attended with a group of friends and we were seated in the enclosed verandah. A few small gas heaters in a drafty verandah wasn't make it any warmer. We struggled on but people coming in the verandah door (the sign does say to enter via the front door!) and keeping it open (hello rudeness!!) didn't help the chill factor. Having said that, the food and wine (French and regional Australia) list while not extensive was good. BYO was nearly $4 pp (!) and wines are from $25 a bottle plus there's a lot by the glass. During dessert and coffee we were really feeling the cold so if we go next time, we will request a seat in the cottage. The verandah would be fine during summer, but not a winter's night. They need to seal up the drafty bits and add a few more robust heaters.

We came here for a 50th birthday, and had our own private room in the cottage, almost like having dinner in an old bedroom (in the nicest possible sense). I had never tried Escargot before, so I ordered it for an entree. It was served beautifully with prawn, garlic and mushroom, the garlic was not overpowering. My partner had the scallops which was presented beautifully. I had a special for the main of Lamb cutlets on Cous Cous with vegetables. Small, but nice.
My partner had the Steak and my Father had the Lamb Shank Pie, also smallish but nice. The presentation of the plates was lovely (I will attach photos soon). The staff were attentive, but not overly friendly. We received a sour look when one of our guests did not turn up, and thus the waiter had to make an effort to pack away the table setting for 1.
Dessert was also delicious, ranging from Affogato to Creme Brulee and all in between. We would go back for a special occasion, for something a little different. Because of the tasty food and warm atmosphere provided by the cottage. Mains for memory were around $25-35.

We were two couples dining at Sous le Soleil on a Saturday night in November and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our evening. High marks for the scallops and the crab starters, also for the souffle, chicken and lamb shank mains. The wait staff was efficient and engaging, the owner Olivier took time to visit our table.
Bringing our own wine made this restaurant more affordable than any other of the same calibre we could find in the area. The garden setting created a pleasant atmosphere for our social occasion. Other tables around us seemed equally happy. I look forward to returning to try the other menu items.

Third time around, the service is so slow! It took more than one hour to bring the meals when there was only a few tables. Will not be going again.
