We love this restaurant. The kids eat any of the sushi or sashimi that goes by. The prices reflect the perfect service and fantastic freshness of the food served. Great Japanese drinks are served, and the quality is consistent, regardless of when you turn up.
If you are coming for lunch, this restaurant is very popular with the office set. We arrived at 12.00 noon, and by 12.30 all 36 seats were taken and there was a queue of 6 people, need I say more?
Expensive!!! but sushi is just divine and absolutely fresh. Not a lot of variety - felt like I was having the same salmon row 5 times in a row. Service was pretty bad - everytime we'd look for a refill on our teas, nobody was around. Gets ridiculously packed with all of us suit clad people - best to get in just before midday on a weekday as they don't take bookings.
Great place but yes it's expensive. The cheapest dishes (vegetarian) at $4.20 with most of the other seafood ranging at the $6.80 mark...but the food was delicious & very very fresh. Great for lunch time but get there early or you'll have to wait.
Severe lack of choices, extremely expensive for sushi train! How does it survive in this city of good value, good quality and abudent Japanese food I do not know. Maybe dinner is better but I am not going to try it.
The service was polite and not intrusive. We came late (as always), nearly closing time however, unlike other restaurants, we still got perfect service and the food was still fresh. On that note, the sushi here is superb and a little pricey but I didn't mind, considering how Good it was. The setting and ambience were exquisite. I absolutely loved it there.
If you enjoy sushi trains - then this is the one to try! Fresh fresh fresh sushi where the seaweed is absolutely crisp and the handrolls are made to order. If you are a handroll lover - then you must try the Scallop Caviar - absolutely fabulous - they don't charge $6.50/handroll for nothing!!! I wouldn't say there was that much selection on the train - but each selection available is very fresh and i've read on one of the back of their menu's how they use a particular type of fish and method so that their dishes remain fresh - very interesting, I remember reading.
The chairs are the only complaint I have - very small and uncomfortable - maybe designed to get people in & out during the lunch hour peaks. The service is average, though the handroll maker will occassionally come and ask if the food was any good. I tried sosumi out because I had an entertainment card (when they use to be on it & 25% off the meal) and i've been back numerous times. It can be expensive though - two people (without entertainment card) was approximately $70 - this was for lunch as well. Definitely worth a try (don't forget to try the scallop caviar rolls)!
I've only been once & it was a bit of a rush at lunch hour. Even though it must have been a year since I went, the experience has stayed in my mind... Pricey but worth it! Can never go past nicely portioned sashimi pieces. Hm...
