The bread here is amazingly fresh and of high quality. I recommend the fruit spelt and the kalamata olive loaves. It is a pity that they close so early on the weekends.
Cosy place for breakfast on a Sunday morning before hitting the markets. Limited places to sit. The pastries are outstanding as well as the sourdough. The place could do with a bit of a more cheerful and warm feel to it though. Needs some sort of background music.
The coffee is generally good. The bread is outstanding, particularly the soy and linseed, the seeded rye and the walnut and raisin (try it with a well ripened brie). The sandwiches are highly recommended. I love the ham with rocket, a sliver of cheese and Lynwood tomato relish.
Best sourdough in Sydney. Olive bread on its own is almost impossible to stop eating. Best (Bonsoy) soy flat white in Glebe, which believe me, is a big wrap in this suburb!
Mmmmm I'm eating Sonoma white sourdough, toasted with just a little butter, right now for breakfast ... It's So good. It's fast becoming my favourite sourdough ... I like Victoire's too when I'm in the mood for some really Sour sourdough, but Sonoma's is fantastic all-round. Their soy and linseed loaf is also killer. I second the votes here for the great coffee they do too.
If you get the right barrista you're in for a 9.5 out of 10 coffee, but if not it can only be described as average. Great banana bread though and the ambience on a Sat morning is great. Worth taking the risk with the coffee!
Sonoma's organic bread is legendary and is served at some of Sydney's best restaurants such as Flying Fish. The soy and lindseed with whole soybeans is uniquely scrumptious and the olive bread is dangerous - I could eat a whole loaf! There is one regular barista (young lady) who makes excellent coffee, otherwise it can be patchy. The other baked items are so good like raspberry muffins. An excellent place to pop in for a coffee and cake and pick up some loaves!
My favourite cafe of all time! A cute little rustic cafe on Glebe Point Rd. The coffee is usually fantastic and this place has the best pies! My favourites are the minced beef and the chilli bean varieties at $2.50 a pop. They bake honest breadrolls and the best danishes (Which sell out quickly). The staff are all genuinely sweet, professional and seem to love being there. Unpretentious and great value.
