Gosh. The food was awesome! the signature dishes are spectacular especially the Miso Cod, Warmed Truffled Tai, Korobuta Pork Sashimi, Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes (just to name a few).

Every morsel was delightful, so much detail goes into the tasting experience, make sure you combine all the elements on the dish to get the maximum flavor as the chef would want you to even if you believe the combination may be unconventional.

The Customer Service at Sokyo was delightful! Everyone was warm and courteous. Special thanks to Roum who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. My only disappointment was that I could not fit everything that I wanted to eat! I am looking forward to my next trip there again, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoy Japanese cuisine with a twist. Congratulations to Chef Kojima and his wonderful team!

Quite simply, food nirvana. Utterly sublime dishes, standouts were the wagyu beef and foie gras sticks, amazing signature dish of spicy tuna on crispy rice and the rather wonderful raspberry sake for dessert.

This was one of the best meals we've ever had the good fortune to experience, think Nobu meets Tetsuya when he was starting out. Service is attentive and very friendly, vibe is funky and wine list very comprehensive. Can't wait to return and try more dishes.

I never do reviews but thought I will do one for this restaurant. Basically, the food is great. Really really delicious but the portion is exceptionally small and expensive for what you get. I read the reviews here before going to the restaurant so kind of expected the small serving but it was tiny. It's very fusion style and if you want great japanese food, you can get that easily elsewhere for a much reasonable price.

I went with my husband last Friday for our anniversary. We had 6 dishes, sake and dessert sampler. It cost around $200 but my husband was still hungry so we ended up going to another place to eat more! Anyway, it was good to try once but I probably wouldn't go back again.

Had great experience here for a friend's birthday. For what ended up being $60 a head, we were stuffed to the throat with a wide variety of excellent food, the meats were especially tender. The best part was the ambience, beautifully decorated, dimly lit and located within the new Star, this place was all class. This place would be perfect to bring someone on a date.

I have to say, the food is good. Super-fresh products and creativeness, I can give 10 out of 10. Something that you wish to eat from the normal Japanese will not be in the menu. The music is too loud. Definitely not a perfect place for a romantic night out with your love one. Environment is abit dark. The price is expensive. Overall, I went to eat there for four times already. Suitable to bring your close friends to try some weird Japanese!

Loved it here esp the miso lamb melted in the mouth! The environment was abit too noisy but other than that great place. The tuna sashimi with the plum wine was superb and the deep fried fish skin yummo.

Wow, outstanding meal here last week. Both myself and my wife could not fault one dish that we ordered. We took the advice of the waitress and ordered from each section of the menu this proved to be spot on the 2 deserts we standouts as was the wine.
Not a cheap meal about $400 with $160 worth of wine included but will definitely go back.

Pluses - sashimi and sushi are good. Minuses - "hot mess" of clientele and you definitely feel like you are part of the casino and all the random blow ins that a casino crowd attracts. The noise level from diners and music is loud. As soon as I arrived I couldn't wait to leave. Very well meaning staff but they all seemed green, our first plate to arrive was quickly whisked away by another staff member with apologies that it was for another table.

I could hear more apologies being given to the table next to us for another reason, that couple looked anxious to leave too.

Should have gone to Sake, or maybe tried Momofuku Seibo instead, but I won't be crossing pymont bridge again in a hurry. I was looking forward to Sokyo but it was a big disappointment. Would definitely not recommend to anyone. Maybe it would have been alot better sitting at the sushi bar watching the chefs with your back turned to the rest of it.

This place was terrible. The worst service I have encountered in Pyrmont. I am a local and will never go back to this place. The wait staff were wandering around not really understanding what their role was. Our credit card then was misplaced and we had to ask for the bill more than once. For the price you pay for not much there are much better places in pyrmont anmd much better Japanese restaurants as well.
