We went for dinner based on the reviews below but thought it was over-rated. more of a take-away Turkish aspiring to be a restaurant! Food: Freshly cooked, the BBQ chicken skewer was very delicious and the Iskandar was suprising (my first time) and the food came out very fast. Ambience: The toilet is shocking; only one for both sexes with no ventilation and one person at a time. The Owners are Lebanese not Turkish and they play loud Lebanese music which gives the place a low-class feeling. (the name Al-Sofra = "Food Table" in arabic). Located at the corner of two busy streets, a cheap plastic shed creates an area outside which for locals, is a great idea since middle eastern people love to smoke and been seen to feel important! Service: The menu is on the wall; so you'd awkwardly be standing in the middle of the restaurant looking up feeling under pressure to order fast while the waitress behind the counter is looking at you. Value: Great value; both dishes were in very large portions, Iskandar $10 and Double Chicken Skewer $13.

The food here is great, we had the adana, chicken and lamb kebabs. The meat tasted wonderful, although the lamb was a little on the tough side. The adana and chicken were perfect. We loved the smokey flavour. The bread and salad complimented well.

We sat outside and took in the ambience that auburn had to offer. The lovely sound of the doof doof and fully sick exhausts. The value was terrific and the staff are very attentive. Was packed when we went there and thats always a good sign. For good value for money and tasty food, you can't go wrong. As good as other more expensive places.

Lamb and Chicken very tasty. Bread excellent. Worth a visit to soak in the atmosphere.

The original and the best. You can't beat the mixed plate of chicken, shish and adana with the nicest breads and salads. Probably the most pricey in Auburn but hey definitely the best in taste. Wouldn't go anywhere else, it's not worth the $2 in savings to eat at the other kebab joints.

The Sofra is my favourite kebab restaurant in Sydney. Their kebabs are tasty and the simple but delicious salads set them off nicely. As good as some of the best kebabs I have had in Turkey. Wash it all down with a glass of ayran.

Great little restaurant. I sat outside and had the wonderful soup and then chicken. Really friendly staff, very welcoming and attentive. Come here and have a very pleasant and unpretentious meal.

Besides the family atmosphere and the relaxed environment, the food was better than expected. The BBQ was a feature, order your mixed grill of chicken and lamb and just relax. The service was excellent and reasonably priced.

Excellent kebabs, probably the best in Sydney! Love coming here for lunch, the environment is laid back and very relaxed. Order your own food with the chef on the coals and pay the staff opposite him, grab a drink out of the fridge and take a seat. Inside or out it is always busy on the weekends and I will travel there often for this yummy food! Take away also!
