Singapore Shiok hainanese chicken rice steamed or roasted is as authentic as you can get as far as flavor, the rice and condiments it comes with ie the dark caramel and chilli ginger sauce. The soup is good too. So for those who know what the real thing is would know than many other places sell the rip off version but not here. Give it a try!

The Har Mee soup base (the prawn soup) was on the salty side, but once mix with the noodles then it's fine. but their dry Har Mee is different from those I had in Singapore. Hainan chicken rice set was fine, and it seems to be their specialty. Many items on the menu are yet to be available, eg. sambal prawn and bak ku teh, hope I get to try them soon.

Recommended by a friend, we decided to try their number one dish on the menu, the Hainanese chicken rice. The chicken was tender and flavorsome and came with tasty dipping sauce. My only complaint was the soup, which didn't taste very fresh, and more like supermarket chicken stock. Also tried their Nasi Lemak, which came with the usual sides, fried egg and 2 pieces of fried chicken.

The chicken was a bit on the dry side and the coconut rice was slightly cold. However, at the price of less than $10, it was good value for money. The lady serving us was very nice, and gave us 2 servings of dipping sauce seeing that there were two of us.

We decided to try out Singapore Shiok on Friday so we took a drive into the city. I must say that we were not disappointed with our decision. The Chicken Rice is about the best you can find although the soup was a little too salty. The Hokkien Mee is also excellent. Ambience is not great but this is one of the better Food Courts (clean) I have seen. If you have not tried this place out I suggest that you give it a go.

Had the Har Mee noodle soup. Never heard of Har Mee before but it was different and awesome. The stock is very prawny but also with a deep almost beefy taste, that probably doesn't sound good but it was rich and delicious. Will be back to try the Hainan chicken and others.

Singapore Shiok opened a few weeks back, and I did not regret at all having had my dinner there. I chose the chicken rice which was depicted as the largest pictures on the menu (indicated it might be the signature dish). To my surprise it tasted beautiful, the rice was beautifully seasoned, chicken was fantastically cook and the chili was Shiok as Singaporeans say when it taste great. You have no way to rate the service as it is not a restaurant, ambience as well but value was not too bad. Overall experience was fantastic. A must try for chicken rice lovers.
