A good place serving an array of cafe menu food. The food is fast and fresh and the homemade cakes and biscuits are the highlight along with the exceptional coffee.

I had been wanting to try this cafe for some time and one rainy weekend when the opportunity presented itself I was there! It seems the corn fritters are a regular fixture on the menu, so I ordered. The tomato relish was good - the fritters themselves a little dry but still a tasty dish. The cafe does great juices and good coffee, and all the cakes and slices look home-made and inviting. If it wasn't so far away I would definitely make it my local.

This simply has to be one of the best cafes in Sydney. Whenever my daughter scores a goal in soccer we reward her with lunch at sideways. Great coffee, delicious food. Don't be discouraged by the crowd. You usually get a table pretty quickly and the service is surprisingly fast.

Nice relaxed atmosphere despite being located on a five-ways roundabout and parking being scarce on weekends. Service was friendly and the sirloin steak sandwich is recommended. Can be packed especially on weekends.

Solid food and exceptional coffee. They always have a lot of staff who are very friendly, but service can take a while, particularly for a take away coffee. Value is pretty good and food is home cooked.

Sideways has been a favourite for me for years. Almost everything I have tried is amazing, and the waitstaff are lovely and welcoming. I consider this cafe to be fairly reasonably priced, considering the high standard of the dishes and service. Would highly recommend the corn fritters, BLAT, chicken burger, milkshakes and their homemade muffins, brownies and apple & date cake!

Sideways has been my local cafe for years now and I can't rate it highly enough. The food is fast, fresh and very tasty and the cakes and biscuits are baked on site and are a real treat! The poached eggs could possibly be the best in the Inner West!

Unfortunately, Sideways has received some bad reviews recently but everyone I know who I have brought to Sideways (as I refuse to risk going to any other cafe) is always excited at the prospect of coming back! The BLAT is one of the favourite meals amongst my friends!

Our Mothers Groups meets here weekly and the large number of prams is never an issue. We are always catered for and never rushed, even if we exceed a 2 hour stay! There is a change table in the bathroom and plenty of toys to keep children occupied.

Sideways is a family business run by Jacqueline and Danielle and it is obvious they treat their staff and customers like part of their extended family. I am moving out of the area and my only regret is that Sideways will not be coming with me! If you are looking for a cafe in the area, give Sideways a try. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Since moving into the neighbourhood recently, I've been 4 times in the last month.

Cafe closes at 5 pm, so I don't understand why at 4 pm the waitress took my plate from the table without asking me if I finished and with half the food uneaten. She then moved onto another table and stacked other dishes on my plate and then registered the look on my face. She said, I thought you'd finished, I said, no I hadn't. She then offered me the plate back and I said 'not after you've stacked other dishes on top of it'. So she carried on.

To top it off, when paying the bill the same waitress insisted on getting the 30 cents as the bill was $25.30, and $25 was in the hand. Stunned. The good food doesn't make up for the service, especially when it's over priced.

I live down the street from this cafe and have never been a huge fan of their coffee but I met a group of friends (about 10) here on Saturday morning who were all having full breakfasts but I was having coffee. One of the owners seemed unhappy that I didn't want a menu and after my friends had finished their breakfasts the same woman came and said she needed our table and said "We are very busy you know". I was then charged $7 for two (very ordinary) coffees. This experience just confirmed why I avoid going to this cafe.

Very bright, cheery ambience and lots of chatter makes this a great place for a catch up. Food is good and the staff while busy do their best to be friendly and attentive. Breakfast menu could be broader. The owner is clearly very active in the running of this place and very attentive. The coffee, however, is not to my liking, overly extracted and quite bitter, it really doesn't rate in my estimations, could be the brand?
