If you want 5 star service and silver cutlery, this isn't really for you, But, if you want real Indon food served in a real Indon street-eat atmosphere, it's hard to beat!

I found this restaurant by chance. We love the food so much, we went back again the next day. Try the Rawon Ox tail, Curry goat soup and the Durian shaved ice.

The chicken is yummy, although $10 for a chicken and rice is a bit pricey. No water is provided, we need to buy their own branded water?

Food and service is really awful. I have to wait my food to be served in 35 minutes. I can hardly believe, why it takes so long in preparing only chicken noodles? The price is very expensive with the small portion. Definitely, I will not come back again and never recommend anyone to come to this restaurant.

This is my favourite Indonesian place. Good is fantastic, if you love hot food! By hot, I mean its really HOT (in caps and bold). Though they do warn you. Try out their fresh chilli sauces. Place is small and seating is not very attractive, but good value for money. Avg cost per item is about $13 to $17. Its good value though.

Can't say much about the ambience and services but food was really good if you can handle spicy food. Especially loved the ayam bakar. Prices are not so bad as well. Its one of my favourite indonesian eatery.

The taste is so ordinary. Hard to park vehicles. The service is really bad. I love indonesian food when I went to indonesia, but in Shalom, I could not find the real taste of indonesia. The use of plastics, also shows unconcerned about environment, and may just concern about profit itself.

I heard from some friends about this restaurant, then I decided to go and have a try for their food. I order soto, omg the soto was tasteless, so different from what I expected, self service here, can't called it restaurant.!

I tried the new Shalom restaurant on Sussex street, it seems that they have a lot of improvements from the other restaurant in Broadway. I can guaranteed that the food is very delicious and it is authentic since I am Indonesian who also grew up in Indonesia.

The chili is the best I could find in Sydney (I am chili eater), grilled chicken shalom is my favourite but if you cannot eat spicy food, better try the other menus (beef rendang, bali chicken, soto mie, chicken satay, batagor, etc). The best dessert for me is the Ice durian, I like it because they use real durian fruit which is so sweet and tasty. The price is very cheap and the service is very good (no more self service).
