Love the shakey, bit of a dodgy pub (just how I like it) but you can't go past the $10 rump steak with mash & salad. Friend of mine who has been going there for a while said the food was previously really horrible but they must have had a change of chef.

Caught up with friends. Highly recommend happy hour ($2.50 wines). The grilled chicken was really good. The only disappointment was the vegetarian pizza was not on the menu and a few people had raved about it. Really nice little pub.

After another couple of goes I'm upping the rating on this pub. Maybe a change of chef? The food is great value, fresh and tasty and you don't need to buy alcohol to qualify for the $10 meal.
Not a bad selection of $10 meals. The salt and pepper squid was not crumbed, but lightly stir fried or something and very plain. My friend had salmon which was a much better option. For steak I'd go to other local pubs. Pretty ordinary pub with smelly carpet.

The Shakespeare has a menu of pretty good $10 meals. Highlights include the salt and pepper squid, steaks, vegetable pizza and lasagna. The Shakey Burger has also returned to form. A great selection of beers for a small pub includes high quality Coopers Pale and Sparkling, Guiness, and now Baron's Pale Ale. The service is friendly, the regulars piquant and the atmosphere (unfortunately) pretty unique in modern Sydney.

The Shakey as we affectionately call it is a great pub, soo much character and the food is really good for $10, try the fish and chips and the vegie pizza - YUM! My group of friends have been going there for years they used to be $5 place but have changed, which is good because the quality of food is way better now.
I'd like to point out to 2bshure that it is a great pub (and no I don't work there) and if you actually took the timed to read the other persons review she has given good feedback like that on the restaurants, you sound like a negative person to me!! Anyway was just looking through my local pubs to see what people thought and was shocked to read miss negativities comments. The Shakey is great, please don't change!!

One of my favorite places to eat there, 25 $10 meals are all fantastic, the salt and pepper squid is fabulous. Fantastic service and very friendly staff.
