Delicious mushroom truffle ravioli. The food is amazing and very generous.

Food was aweful, the fish was frozen and overcooked, tasted dry and the sauce too strong and inedible. The dessert Tiramisu was presented badly thrown on the plate like a mashpotato. Would never come back, Even for one dollar would not eat the meal.

Had the pleasure of dining at Sevardis last night with some friends. The food was beautifully prepared and generous. I am unable to eat certain foods (no grain, dairy, legumes etc) and find it difficult when choosing restaurants which I can rely on to prepare my meal as requested. Sevardi's understand this and can still serve a meal which is flavorsome and satisfying!
Seeing other reviews prompts me to say we find the staff to be welcoming, helpful and unintrusive, restaurant can be a little noisy as the evening goes on, however, we don't mind that.

Reading some of the more recent reviews I ventured here with a sense of apprehension. Happily it was not as bad as the worst reviews indicate, but equally not as good as the best reviews would suggest.
I found the food to be of a good standard, but certainly not exceptional, and maybe a little overpriced. The service was very good, the chef even making an appearance and checking with each table if they were happy with their meals.
I found the room a little noisy due to hard floors, and the nature of the small enclosed room that it is. I would not put this place on a list of my all time favourites, but equally would not object to dining here again.

A party of coworkers and I went to Sevardi for our annual christmas dinner. When we arrived one by one, all of us were greeted at the door and seated at our spacious table in the back. The restaurant looked lovely with the candelight, fine dining setting and christmas decorations. In short, it was vibrant, lively yet at the same time comfortbale and welcoming. It was smiles all round from the start. The antipasto plate was really nice (I personally could not get enough of the prosciutto).
From the selection of entree dishes on offer, I chose the scallops, which was just something else. I really liked it. For mains, the veal was tender and delicious. The staff was abit slow in clearing the plates after the mains but granted the restaurant was completely packed, I think I can forgive them.
For dessert, the tiramisu was superb. I can honestly say it was one of the best I've ever had. One spoonful, and I literally couldn't stop. To top the night off, the chef came in after the rush of tables and in a friendly fashion talked to all of us about the photographer (or painter?) which the place lends its name form.
In all it was an excellent evening, and for the price we organized prior, I can say everyone left happy and eager to come back with their families. I certainly will.

On the 31st October 2011 I took a girlfriend for a special 50th birthday lunch (12:30pm) at what looked to be a lovely, classy, white table clothed italian restaurant and the menu looked very tasty via the website.
Upon arrival there was No white table clothes nor were there any set tables and the restaurant didn't even look open as the lighting was barely on, almost dark and I had to ask were they open?
The initial service was mediocre and we received our entrees reasonably fast but after that it was a disaster. I had to approach the counter/kitchen to ask for another glass of wine and then again to ask where our mains were. Keep in mind that we were the only people in the restaurant at this time! This was also the same for coffee and the man that was serving us was Very hard to understand.
On the website the menu is only the dinner version not the lunchtime version. When I rang and booked I spoke to the Chef asking about certain things i.e. the pork belly and scallops on the menu and the availability at lunch and he said yes no problem. So when we arrived and we were given the lunchtime menu. I had alarm bells at that moment and we should've left and gone elswhere but I wanted my friend to have a lovely experience...but you are now reading my review.
To the chef's credit the food was very nice and he remembered my call and made available the things I had queried, although the antipasto plate was a huge let down and overall the food was overpriced, the ambience was blah and we won't be returning.

Last week nine of us went to Sevardi Cuncina for my daughter's sixtenth birthday party. As soon as we entered, we received the most endearing welcome by the owner, a man named toni and his wife. The music, candlelight, antique photos on the wall gave the place a really cosy atmosphere.
The food was absolutely wonderful. Judging from everyone elses' reaction on the table, if you come, you must try the porkbelly and veal romana. Given the quality of what we ate, you deifntiely get bang for your buck. The small restaurant is truly a jewel and one of Beecroft's many surprises.
In my opinion, it is one of, if not the best restaurant in the area. I'll be definitely going back.

I was embarrassed to have chosen Sevardi Cucina as the place to have dinner with my group of friends, based on the good reviews on this website. The food was mostly awful, it was very expensive, and while one waitress was just lovely, the rest of the staff were a bit rude - they kept us waiting for the bill while they rearranged the furniture! Don't waste a night out on this place.

Staff was very nice and animated with an authentic Italian accent, But food was neither sufficient in size nor quick. With only a partially full restaurant, we received our garlic bread within 20 mins but our mains followed an hour later.
The spaghetti was a decent size but the ravioli was very sparse (looked entree size). The pork belly was tasty but seemed lonely with a few slices of potato and a single small wedge of apple. For mains around $30 we felt they need to focus slightly more on size, but quality was excellent.
It was nice and dimly lit, although somewhat depressing with browny-grey walls and small b&w photos surrounded by plain wooden frames, and an Italian opera mask hanging. Felt slightly claustrophobic. (it needed some colour like red table cloths or curtains). Wouldn't protest if friends wanted to go again.

What an amazing find, small, intimate, excellent food, but best of all felt like you were in a friend's kitchen chatting while they cook, Toni is a larger than life character who told us he cooks with love and you could certainly feel the love in the veal, lamb, duck liver, scallops and affogato. I will definitely go back.
