Ordered the $12 Wednesday steak. They told me I had to order a drink, and a beer cost another $6, so this became an $18 dinner immediately. It took half an hour for the food to come, and when it did it was dry, overcooked and tiny, with too many chips.
    Do not go here.

There's no food rating here which is a shame. I had the Kapitan fish curry. Not what I was expecting but excellent none the less. Some nice lightly battered fish fillets covered in sweet curry sauce (a little too sweet but I think I have been spoiled by the Malaya). My friend's salt and pepper squid was good also apparently. Drinks were reasonably priced. Service was slow but pleasant enough. Went for a mid week lunch with a friend.

My partner and I were looking forward to going to Settlement bar after reading a recent review. I had a coupon from the Ent Book so we decided to have a meal as well as a couple of drinks. Our first contact was a Sourpuss Asian Bar girl whose rating on the friendliness meter was about a minus ten. When I handed her the Entertainment card coupon you would have thought I just gave her a dog turd the way she was holding it by the corner and turning it over and over like she had never seen one in her whole 20 something years of existence. No matter. I perservered, but at the back of my mind i was hoping she didn't deliver the food coz i was expecting a big goober might be lurking amongst the shoe string chippies with the chicken schnitzel!!! My Sauv blanc was gorgeous (Essence) but my partners Cab Sauv (cant remember which one) was so warm it was bordering on being mistaken for gluhwein without the fruit. Not many peeps around as it was a Tue night but that suited us fine. The rocky start put us in a bad frame of mind but the food was decent (two schnits for $16 - with coupon) so can't complain there. Luckily the young chap who collected our plates had a bit more personality and thanked us for coming and wished us good night so it ended better than it started. BTW I couldn't seem to find the tapas menu - is it still the go? Mind you Missy Sourpuss nearly had to have bamboo inserted under her fingernails before she would provide us with a wine list.
Note to management: If u are going to hire pretty young things - make sure they are nice as well as attractive.

Wow, luckily I didn't read up on the Settlement Bar before heading there for lunch on a workday as I would've probably avoided the place like the plague! As it turned out, hubby and I had a fantastic meal there. We didn't order drinks (just water) but I rate the food as 8/10, we had the Thai-style Barramundi and the Chicken Schnitzel with shoestring chips.

The meal should've come to $30.50 in total but we used an Entertainment Book buy 1 get 1 free voucher, which brought the total down to $16. Both meals were great, absolutely delicious, could not fault anything. Service was very helpful too. I'm not a fan of the ambience, we were sitting on these old worn-out stools that constantly rocked, but that's the one gripe I have about the Settlement Bar. I'd probably be happy to pay full price for a meal here again.

Fantastic after work beer garden. Good value with the pints, ambience a bit lacking.

This place has really revamped its image. I must admit I was a little skeptical going back but it has totally changed, for the better! the spanish tapas and pizzas were moderately priced and a delicious treat. The service was much better than my last visit in 2008. Celebrity chef miguel maestre is now head poncho and the food was a major surprise. Very impressed!

This place is great for about half an hour each week on a friday after work. The rest of the time it's disappointing. You may as well get KFC than eat here. Overpriced fast food. What do you expect from a pub under a busy overpass. At first glance it looks nice. But don't stick your hand under the table unless you like old chewing gum, and some not so old. The staff seem stressed because it is under staffed. This place is local to me so I have given it more chances than I should.

Went here for dinner on Monday night, was quiet and the Bartender was very "how ya goin" but the food was delicious and great value. I had veal parmagiana, BF had a steak, great value large servings and service was quick. We'll go back for good pub grub.
