    I Love Sean's

In the many times I have eaten here there has only been one disappointing meal. The service was fabulous. We had artichoke with walnut dip and scallops with watercress for entree, and we both had the kingfish with veggies on the side.

The dessert was a mouthwatering and very adult tasting trifle. Absolutely mouthwatering. Beautiful flowers on the table, and cheeky smiles from the staff. I love that the wine list offers bottles of wine from $45 upwards to $300 (?) whereas some pubs nowadays have their starting point at this price. Can't wait to go again.

I ate there at the weekend. Had wonderful food and amazing service. The pate was so smooth and full of flacour. The chicken was so moist, everything tastes so fresh.

The only thing which was a dampener was the noise, it was so difficult to hear some of the other guests at our table. Also over the years I have observed a steady increase in the cost at Seans. If it were a little more affordable, I'd visit more regularly.

    Had lunch there.

    The Food:
The Main (beef) was very salty. Dessert nothing special. Could tell the produce was fresh though.

    The Ambience:
Okay but I could get that at any Eastern Suburbs beach cafe.

    The Service:
Okay. I am not fussed about whether I have to pour my own water or not, but a supply from the beginning would have been nice (see salty beef). Did not appreciate the bill arriving on the table (before requested) and asked to finish up the moment we finished our wine, "as there are other customers we have to fit in". Not the best way to keep customers and says a lot about the focus of the business.

    The Value:
For a $100 per person lunch, I expected a bit more. I don't mind what I pay for food if it is good.

    Overall Verdict:
Average food, a bit overrated (have been to much superior one hat establishments), service needs to improve, will not return.

One of my worst dining experiences ever and its a hat restaurant! Reading other bad reviews ours were the same.

The worst part was the service, had to look around and try get attention to order wine, they did not refill our glasses, I had to do our tables until it was pointed out. It seemed an effort for the waiter to have to read out what was on the blackboard, each meal is described in 3 words so not sure how you are supposed to know with out it being read out?

The food was below average, tasteless, the chicken might as well come from KFC.
When the feedback was given to the waiter, he was so arrogant, non aplogetic and did nothing to try fix our problems. I had taken an international business visitor out to dinner and was embarrassed! Take the hats off them!

Sean, perhaps, speak to your neighbours at North Bondi Italian for some lessons on service!

When the best food of the evening is the bread, you know you are in trouble. I went to Sean's a few years back and loved everything about it, location, decor, service and the food. However, this time was very different. I had the pippis for entree and at over $40 you would expect perfection, instead I got rubbery overcooked ones.

My main of fried chicken on a chickpea puree was so bland, no obvious spices or flavour. Admittedly it was well cooked but at again well over $40 you'd expect better than just average fried chicken. I had chicken last week at a charocal place in Fairfield for less than $20 for the whole chook and the flavour there was intense, maybe the chef should head out west for some inspiration. The accompanying coleslaw was also pretty unispiring. My two friends also thought their meals were pretty ordinary, soup, and the rare beef.

Accompanying vegetables were fine, if again uninspiring. Pls Sean put some spices, herbs in your cooking! By this point we had paid well over the odds so just headed off to an icecream shop for some affordable and tasty dessert. Yet again another Sydney institution which needs a kick up the arse, overseas visitors must be in shock at our prices and standards.

My sister took me as a treat for my birthday. It was a shame as she had all glowing reports and wanted to give me a special lunch. The service was the letdown, it seemed to be okay if they knew you but if they want to create further regular customers, some real attention is needed.

We constantly had to look for service for drinks and tables around us were being serviced but we seemed invisible. The waitstaff had a familiarity in leaning on your chair or their hand resting on your shoulder but this seemed dissonant and contrived with the lack of sincerity on actually looking after our true wellbeing as customers.

Overall disappointing. My sister was also saddened by the fact she had requested a candle or an acknowledgement of my birthday which she had requested upon booking and didn't happen. Thank god for the view.

A fantastic institution in bondi, and the best spot for Sunday lunch in sydney. Beautiful fresh and straight from the farm food, excellent and attentive service in a great atmosphere for a tiny and loud room opposite nth bondi. Seans is in my top 3 restaurants in sydney and if you haven't been get in there. I've dined there at least 10 times over the last 7 years and haven't been let down on any part of the experience. Great work Sean's and don't ever stop.

The joke doesn't end with the cutesy name. Poor service, bad food, crap interior, way overpriced.

Started with a bowl of bread and a thimbleful of olive oil. (eight bucks). Soup (really a vegetable puree) of corn with yabbies tasted like baby food, but sweeter and more salty.

Main course of duck with feekah arrived almost two hours after we sat down. (Is this the Slow Food movement?) Main course was so oily and salty that we wondered if cooks had sourced fairy penguin from a reef of Bondi, in the interests of serving local produce.

Naturally, skipped dessert and coffee. Finished the night by taking last sip of wine and finding a fly in my mouth. When I told waitress, she offered to "get me a splash more wine." Seriously, I've seen more class in a Pilbara road house.

I can't imagine how Sean's can be considered one of Sydney's better restaurants. As I said, the joke doesn't end with the name, it ends with the bill.

Came here for lunch and had a blast. Great Bondi restaurant with excellent food and service. Will come here again for lunch. I like the blackboard menu; so the food changes according to seasonal produce. Well done.

One of Sydney's most disappointing & and over-rated dining experiences ever. You could get better service at a MacDonald's drive-through, not to mention better value for money & a straw. When we requested a straw for our drinks it was stated "We don't do straws" I need not say anymore. Ordinary & disappointing. Only redeeming factor is bondi location.
