Overview
Sea la vie is a stylish casual restaurant overlooking the stunning Dee Why Beach. We combine three essential ingedients - stylish comfortable atmosphere; with friendly local service; and menus that provide good, wholesome food, which includes only the freshest Australian produce.
Boasting the largest outdoor seating area on Dee Why Beach, Sea la vie is the perfect place to sit while sipping one of our specialty cocktails, enjoying a Seafood taster plate or indulging on one of our signature dishes, the Tasmanian salmon fillet or the moutherwatering 300g grain fed scotch fillet.
We are one of a few restaurants on the Northern Beaches who are finalists in the 2008 The Sunday Telegraph Metropolitan Awards for Excellence.
We encourage you to make your reservation now and treat yourself to a meal at one of the best restaurants on the Northern Beaches.
Sea La vie serves the most tender and juicy scotch fillet steak of all we have had along the Dee Why Strip. Their chicken penne dish is also really tasty. They consistently serve fresh, good sized and value for money meals. The staff are friendly and only too willing to assist you. Certainly will keep going back.
Gave it a second chance for breakfast yesterday after a previously disastrous experience a few months ago. We definitely won't be returning. As others have said the location is fantastic, and the coffee quite good. But the service has been shocking on both occasions, as someone else said, sour and unwelcoming staff that seem to blame the customer when they get the wrong order or forget it all together. There are plenty of much better places at Dee Why.
We went last night and had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner. Being midweek it was pretty quiet which made for very attentive staff, but we've been here previously when it was full and the service was still very good, and still good ambience.
Only criticism, the Marguerita on the menu is offered as frozen or shaken, and I requested frozen but was served shaken. Hubby's scotch fillet was amazingly tender.
I went recently with a friend and was impressed from the time we arrived. The menu was easy to read, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was divine, the coffee at the end was sensational. I highly recommend Sea la vie.
Had lunch here and found, even though busy, service and food a bit disappointing..
I had fish, however, when it was delivered it was "not hot".. don't know that they liked me telling them food should have been hotter...
When we went to Sea la vie, it was a busy night, service and food were first class. They looked after the kids well, gave them colouring in sheets, which kept them well entertained. I highly recommend this place.
Food was fabulous, tasty and well presented. The staff were very helpful and tentative. Would recommend the salt and pepper squid and the lamb both very good.
Went to this cafe for a coffee, told we had to sit inside as we weren't eating. Asked about the free table outside and was told that it was "reserved". By the time we left there were many tables free outside and was totally annoyed having to sit inside on a nice sunny day as I wasn't eating, talk about being treated like a second class citizen! Maybe it was the kids we had with us.
Went to pay the bill and had to wait while the owner monopolized the cashier having a whinge about poor business. Rumour has it that they are getting a consultant in to help them, maybe customer focus would be a good place to start! There are too many other good places in Dee Why and when we go for a meal, it won't be this place. On the positive side, the coffee was great!
