From the outside, this place looks unpleasant and dirty. But once you step inside, it's a well oiled machine! Great food and excellent service, which is hard to say at any yum cha place. The food is fresh, the staff don't hassle you and it's just a great place for some inexpensive and yummy yum cha. Best to go here just before midday though after which is starts to get really packed!

Always the first and best choice of Chinese food over North side Sydney. A real place for a fresh and excellent Yum-Cha experience. The steamed dumplings are so good on most our visits. Seafoods dishes are seriously treated by the chef with stable but creative cooking skills. My family also cannot stop having the fresh mango pancake each time.
The service is ok. Usually there could be obviously too busy during weekends. With the experience in other Chinese restaurants, Sea Treasure is the worthiest you can choose to get the price you pay. Highly Recommend!

Just rating the food: Good Chinese & yumcha. I'm Chinese and love yumcha. Har gau and siu mai were delicious. Scallop dumplings were great. Char siu was lean and tasty. Celebrating a birthday here. Birthday boy chose the coral trout from the menu. Well cooked but very expensive. Overall, a good meal although the bill gave us a shock!

Have had many wonderful yum cha and dinners. The food is absolutely delicious. Favourites are the steamed fish, oysters, pipies and peking duck. Spring rolls are always packed full and very crunchy. Mango pancakes are a must have. Service has wavered quite a bit in the past, but has improved significantly the past few times that we've gone.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch upstairs in one of the private rooms away from the noisy yum cha crowd. Had mud crab, pipis and chilli drunken prawns cooked at the table. Absolutely delicious and wait staff friendly and professional. Pricey but well worth it for a special occasion.

I love having yum cha here! Dumplings are fresh and tasty. Sometime the dumpling skins were over steamed but I didn't mind it. I love their seafood dumplings - fresh seafood mix with chopped veg. The steamed BBQ pork bun was yummy. I'm not a fan of pork but would eat them. Love the steamed scallops with vermicelli!

The food here is on par with other authentic chinese restaurants. We normally get ginger and shallot steamed parrot fish, a half a lobster mornay each, claypot rice, mango pancakes as a minimum. Service is above average.

This is quite frankly the absolute scum of restaurants. We had never heard of this place and unfortunately happened to be in the area on that fateful day. I have never eaten at a restaurant that made me feel this disgusting, from their food, to their service, to their staff, their decor and the ridiculous air conditioning. I frequent yum cha and they do not serve yum cha food nor food of any quality.
We ordered 2 dishes of basic dumplings, which ended up costing $18. We found this out after being told how to order by the man running the show, after which we ordered and decided to cancel as we promptly got up and left.
I am baffled at how anyone could have anything complimentary to say about this restaurant, it was the worst experience of my life, let alone dining experience. If this is what the folks of Crows Nest consider yum cha, I feel deeply sorry for them, as yes, other chinese restaurants have snappy impatient waiters, but at the end of the day, they bring what you asked for in a timely manner and are actually listening to you when you're ordering and will acknowledge you. They literally just pretend to be listening and walk away with no consideration of what you have just said, made painstakingly obvious when you ask them a question and they are silent.
If you have any inkling of appreciation of food, do yourself a favour and leg it in the other direction. I cannot believe how many people were there that day, which would mean they have no clue about good food and keep this place in business with their ignorance. Restaurants like these and the people that run them deserve to be out of business, and it would be my honour if this post had an influence on that.

My family and I will Never ever ever go to this restaurant again. The food was alright and on par with other chinese restaurants, that was the only good thing about this restaurant.
Given we did not book, however, we asked if they had a table for us and if we would have to wait to which they responded that there was room and it will only be 5 minutes. We waited standing for 45 minutes before getting a table.
We ordered 2 abalone which was $165/kg and asked for them to show us the abalone and let us know the weight before cooking. The abalone was served to us cooked, without showing us beforehand. When questioned he replied that they were too busy to show it to us beforehand and if he had to do all this we would be there till daylight.
When asked for the estimate of the weight he replied flippantly and vaguely. It is standard of any chinese restaurant (esp a seafood restaurant) to let us know the weight of the seafood Before cooking it! Not only did he not do that after telling us he would he brushed us off when we questioned him!
The attitude of this one particular waitstaff who took our orders was extremely rude. I have never encountered such rude, flippant, inefficient and 'know it all' attitude ever. Simply appalling! Kam Fook or Chinese Palace down the road from them is way better. There are no lack of choices in Sydney for chinese food and Sea Treasure is simply a poor poor example.

Food was tasty and fresh. Nice variety of steamed dumplings, as well as the normal prok buns, dims sims etc. Custard tarts were very nice. Their mango pancakes were nicebut not as good as some others I've had. I like the way the give you a warm hand towel to use.
